It could be a problem with the stalk or the COMM 2000 unit. Have you turned off the auto side of the lights completely with the procedure in the owners manual? IIRC you turn the ignition to ACC and press the stalk on the LHS until you get a bong. A proper Citroen tech will be along soon. Quote

iannez Posted September 10, 2009 Posted September 10, 2009 agree with RB. sounds like a comms fault. Quote
seefive Posted September 11, 2009 Posted September 11, 2009 i have followed the prceedure on how to turn them off automatically but they still come on after a short while they do go off again but always keep comming back on a cheap way round it is to drive with side lghts on. Better than forking out for the comm unit Quote
Randombloke Posted September 12, 2009 Posted September 12, 2009 a cheap way round it is to drive with side lghts on. Better than forking out for the comm unit I may be mistaken, but the setting/command that keeps the sidelights on is processed by the COMM 2000 unit in/around the steering column. The sidelights on fix is only really a work around when the auto side of the lights on/off is playing up, when there's a COMM 2000 fault the commands from the stalk are being sent wrongly, AIUI. It's worth checking that the stalk itself is not at fault. I'll check if I still have my COMM 2000 unit, it has an airbag fault, but I think the stalks are ok if you want to cannibalise it. It may be a problem with the contacts in the stalk. Personally I would bite the bullet and replace it if it's the COMM 2000 unit. IIRC it needs to be coded into the car, and not cheap, but I paid out the cash rather than risk problems with the functions it controls, which can be vital to road safety. Quote
iannez Posted September 13, 2009 Posted September 13, 2009 no need to programme a comms unit. front fog lights is the only difference. all come with slots for the cruise ctrl and radio stalks. front fog units have 2 arrows pointing up on the fog light switch and non fog ones only have one. switch sends same signal to bsi for front and rear fogs so both would still work. blame the pub if this makes no sense lol. iannez Posted September 14, 2009 Posted September 14, 2009 the stalk is part of the comms unit mate. you need to remove the steering wheel and it sits around the column. wiper and indicator stalks are part of it. Quote
techbod Posted September 15, 2009 Posted September 15, 2009 caution when removing the steering wheel because if it has ESP you will need the proper diagnostic gear to set the center of the steering wheel when replacing it ( new tech for you ). Quote
iannez Posted September 16, 2009 Posted September 16, 2009 (new tech for you). what do you mean by that techbod. Quote
andymarve Posted October 1, 2009 Posted October 1, 2009 this happened with my 52 plate exclusive when i bought it last year. T he problem was with the sensor which is behind the rear view mirror, it had just popped out of its housing. I just clicked it back into place and it has worked fine ever since. in fact, since that day, I haven't had to turn my lights on at all, they come on when they should and turn off the same Quote
