Parking Sensor Problem

Hi

My parking assist doesn't work and I thought it was cos I had a tow bar fitted. Took it off but still no joy so got the dealer to check it out on the last service. They said it needed new sensor on the front and one on the back and quoted me £200. I said I would live without it (which I can but I'd quite like to have it if for no other reason than to avoid reversing into my neighbours car again..!!) but the garage wouldn't tell me which ones were faulty. I'm guessing it's because they aren't that expensive or difficult to replace.

Does anyone know where I can get hold of the sensors and how I check which ones are faulty. I'm presuming they aren't that difficult to replace.

Thanks

Rob

Are you sure it isn't just switched off. There's a switch below the radio.

I get a message on the display that it is faulty and the garage have checked it and said it needs 2 new sensors. If it is not too difficult I might try it myself if I know where I can get some from.

One of mine failed .I got my local independent garage to plug it in and tell me which one had failed .New sensor was about £68 and a straightforward swap over

One of my mates reckons you can tell which one has failed (on his BMW 3 series) by listening carefully to the sensors There's a quiet clicking noise coming from them if the work .

I've not tried this on my Citroen yet though

Thanks Dave, I will try this out and see what I can hear.
