Guest brummiemm Posted August 1, 2010 Posted August 1, 2010 Hi Y'all Been looking at the site through the eyes of a fellow much loved C3 owner, you all seem to know your stuff so i need your help on this one. I keep getting false warnings about my r/h/r electrics.First a warning about the fog lamp, then a couple of mins later the reverse light, finally ending with a creshendo of alarms stating all my electrics are up the swannie.Obviously i have checked all the bulbs and removed the rear cluster to check for probs....all seems to be ok. I seem to have been very lucky with my "billy" (sorry the wife must name all the cars),in the 5 years i have owned him from new,all he has cost me is £10 for a faulty brake light switch. He may be getting a little long in the tooth but i hope i have many more years happy motoring with him, sorry i am waffling a bit now. Anywho's can anyone help me with a few idea's with the mysterious electric gremlin? Thanks in advance Brummie Quote
paul.h Posted August 1, 2010 Posted August 1, 2010 I can not help but can you give more info on your car - year, model, engine, mileage, any recent servicing. Quote
iannez Posted August 1, 2010 Posted August 1, 2010 usually down to corrosion on the earth pin in the light cluster connector. a bit contact cleaner and a sharp screwdriver to scrape the terminal should do the trick. Quote
Guest brummiemm Posted August 2, 2010 Posted August 2, 2010 Hi Paul Thanks for the reply its a 2005 c3 1.4 desire,60000 on the clock with a full service history,in fact it was services 4 days ago.I asked the indepandant to take a look,he stated he had hooked up the ecu and cleared 3 codes.2 of them where unkown which he said i would have to go to a main dealership who had the proper softwhere.
