Losing Power

Hi all I have a 2006 c3.Ive Had it a year now & this is my problem which the citroen dealer where I bought it cannot or dont want to fix.Its a 1400 petrol by the way.In any gear when I get to +- 2000 rpm the engine starts to hold back & lose power.Eventualy, by abou 2500 it picks up.

The strange thing is at night when this happens all the lights dim & then come up again. I can even do this in the gagage with the garage lights off just reving to 2000 odd revs. The citroen mech's (sorry technicians)at first didnt beleive me, but after comming with me eventualy, reluctantly, agreed there was a prob. but had no idea as noth ing showed up after several diagnostics.Iv'e had it back plenty times now, they have fitted up to date-new coms' unit, new temp. sensor, new alternator, new spk. plugs & coil block& re initialised it with the latest software.(their wording)

The prob is still there but now their diag. mach. shows no fault codes at all.How can this be as there obviously is a fault?!

I fitted new NGK plugs but the garage took them out & fitted theirs "because NGKs dont work well in these engines" they didnt refund my money even though the fault still persisted. So,please I,m just about at the hair tearing out stage & I havent got much left as it is, can anyone shed any light on this please. Thanks for reading if you got this far. By the way I am an ex, mechanic of the old school. Regards to all Pete.

Might just need a new accelerator pedal which could have internal wear on the electrics, about £40 and 2 bolts hold it in place and a wiring connector. Do it yourself and no labour costs. Replaced ours to help initial setting off which was jerky at low revs.

Thanks Paul for replying,

I removed the acc. pedal and eventualy opened up the electrical unit on top ,however there was nothing to show a fault, so I put it back. This was before I joined the group. I have a friend with a c3 I will try and persuade her to let me swap temporarily. Thanks I will let you know if it works.

Regards Pete.
