Guest lisab Posted October 11, 2010 Posted October 11, 2010 I have recently purchased a Citroen Xsara Picasso (54 plate) from a local small dealer, they were only given the spare key and do not have a remote access key. I have been quoted a rough guide of what I will need to pay for a new remote key and for it then be programmed to the car but was wondering if there was any other cheaper way of doing this i.e can you obtain the key's elswhere and what do I need to look out for and does this then have to go to a main citroen dealer for it to be programmed? (I have the key code with the car). Look forward to hearing from anyone who can help. Thanks. Quote
Guest phl Posted October 13, 2010 Posted October 13, 2010 Think only the dealer can do it,as you have the security card should,nt be too expensive.Dont know what you mean by "spare key" and "remote access key".My 54 plate C3 has 2 identical keys ? If one of yours is,nt working, has battery "gone" flat. Can buy them at Halfords etc.Need to sync key to immobaliser when key changed or battery re newed.Owners book tells you what to do.Involves turning ignition on and pressing key buttons in a certain order etc ? paul.h Posted October 14, 2010 Posted October 14, 2010 We had a 05 Picasso from new and that came as standard with one remote key for the central locking and one spare key without the remote which could be used in the locks. At the time we bought a second remote key from the dealer which including the coding I think was either about £60 or £120 but not sure. Quote
