Guest manfriday Posted October 19, 2010 Posted October 19, 2010 Hi, I’m new to this please be gentle! Owned my C4 for 18mts it's an 05 2.0d VTS+. Unfortunately last month after returning from a usual trip to the shops the engine went nuts and began to rev of the scale, as a result there was an almighty puff...... no cloud of blue smoke, I had to stall the car to get it to stop, after regaining my composure I dared to turn the car over again, it sounded like a bag of nails and began to rev of the scale again. As I was going away the next day we towed it to our local diesel electric garage, they informed me 10 days later that the engine was knackered, they decided that the oil seal had gone in the turbo resulting in the previous mentioned problem! I'm thinking about striping the engine and inspecting, because in my head it could be so many things, and not that simple to diagnose without some visual inspections? What do you think? As engines go what’s it like to strip and rebuild and what can I expect to pay. I don't want to know much do I? Thanks Quote
paul.h Posted October 20, 2010 Posted October 20, 2010 I would post this on the C4owners.org forum, it has a wide following and you are more likely to get a lot of replies. Quote
