Guest kimosabe Posted December 7, 2010 Posted December 7, 2010 Have a c5 estate 2001 bought 3 weeks ago and heaters were working great but not working at all now which is not good in this weather, have checked oil and water but no joy any suggestions on problem would be great thanks :) blows cold air ony You don't say if the heater fan is working on all speeds,if this is the case do a search on the forum use the search window under your name at the top of this page. Also 3 weeks ago the weather was not as cold as it is now,it may be your car is running without a thermostat.???If your car hasn't got the correct amount of antifreeze in you may have a frozen heater matrix or you may have an airlock in your water system.(have you topped up the water/antifreeze lately, you may need to bleed out the water system..)Hope some of this helps,Someone will perhaps come along and offer some more help.It also helps if you describe in more detail what your problem is.CheersDave Quote
paul.h Posted December 7, 2010 Posted December 7, 2010 What model/engine is the car ? If you have climate control, it could be an electric motor (solenoid) that moves the relevant ducting flap may be stuck in the cold position and hence need replacing - are there any grinding/slipping gear noises inside the dash ? I think things like this have appeared before, usually as one side of the car is hot and the other is cold. If you do not have climate control, then maybe the cable from the temperature control knob to the ducting flap has come undone or broken - this is covered in the Haynes manual. Also check if the water hoses at the bulkhead to/from the heater matrix are hot. Quote
