Guest lanzapete Posted December 17, 2010 Posted December 17, 2010 I have got a 2003 Belingo 1.4 and the top of the steering rack where the steering column enters the rack leaks oil badly. Been quoted €520 for just for the part. Does anyone know if it possible to strip this part and replace the oil seal and cure the problem. I live in Lanzarote and the car is a left hand drive. I am not sure if the part is the same as the right hand drive or not, because if it is I can probably source the part more cheaply in the UK. But because part suppliers in the UK all work on registration numbers and not chassis numbers that has proved a frustrating line of enquiry. Quote

Guest womble Posted December 17, 2010 Posted December 17, 2010 Just a further thought. Allegedly the Partner and Berlingo have identical build apart from "Badge Engineering",try also your local Peugeot dealer as there also seems to be a price difference with Pug and Cit.... Quote
paul.h Posted December 17, 2010 Posted December 17, 2010 Most likely there will be an oil seal that has worn and needs replacing. Years ago I had to do this. There was a metal disc which had to be pulled off and under this were 2 seals, nothing special about them but only replaced the outer one. If you can measure the internal and external diameter needed then you may be able to get one from a seal supplier. They must be available since you can buy remanufactured steering racks for around £300 - see the eurocarparts web site. Quote
