Berlingo 1.6hdi, 50,000 miles has developed a whine which seems to be directly related to vehicle speed, i.e. gets louder, higher the faster you go - doesn't matter what gear/revs you are doing.

Can't feel any difference in the way it drives, just a slight increase in vibration through the pedals. Getting worse over time, but very gradual. Any ideas?

Possibly a worn wheel bearing. Steering left or right if the noise changes may help pin point the wheel but this is not always accurate. Jack up each wheel in turn and spin it to see if there is any noise / rock the wheel holding top and bottom to see if there is any play. If it goes when the clutch pedal is pushed it could also be a gearbox bearing but unlikely at a low mileage.
