Guest Chris Eccles Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 I have read some of the early posts on wiper faults but none seem to quite describethe symptoms on my Berlingo Van 2001 reg. What happens is this: The wipers will always work at the #3 position of the switch (i.e: full speed) They almost never work in either of the wash/wipe, #1 timed, or #2 half-speed settings. When I have been driving for quite a while (30-45 mins), the wipers willsometimes kick in to normal operation but usually only after I have been runningthem at full speed for quite some time. (can only do this in moderate to heavy rain, obviously) If I park and switch off the engine, the wipers usually don't work again immediatelyupon restarting the vehicle. Is this a symptom of these barmy multiplexed electrics ?Why, oh why, could we not have just stuck with battery > switch > motor ? It seemed towork fine for about 75 years of vehicle building ! paul.h Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 Maybe the wiper switch needs changing or its internal contacts cleaning if it can be taken apart or switch cleaner squirted in. Could also be a loose connector. Quote
