Guest Mark Budd Posted January 21, 2011 Posted January 21, 2011 Hi, I have a current shape C5 and it annoys me that the courtesy lights fade off with the doors still open after only about 30 seconds - never enough time to empty the boot or fasten my children into their baby seats. Is there any way to extend this? The Economy Mode also seems to prohibit much stereo use with the engine off including managing the CD Jukebox which is a real pest - can the Economy mode be switched off altogether, I'm not an idiot and am unlikely to drain my battery this way, thanks very much Citroen!! Cheers,Mark. Quote
paul.h Posted January 21, 2011 Posted January 21, 2011 Maybe you have not got the lights set to come on when the doors are opened. On our Citroens (mark 1 C5, C3, C4), when the key is removed from the ignition the lights come on for maybe ½ minute only but then when a door is opened they come on again unless economy mode has started. Coming on when a door is opened can be switched off using the courtesy light switch - it may say in your handbook how to do this. The economy mode time seems to vary across our cars, maybe 15 to 30 mins, so possibly it can be adjusted by the dealer. Quote
Guest Mark Budd Posted January 22, 2011 Posted January 22, 2011 Hi, I think the switch is set fine, the lights work normally it's just that they go off again before the door is closed - I've had delayed courtesy lights in other cars but they don't go off while the door is still actually open! Normally it's fine but when halfway through strapping in a baby and the light fades away is a pest! Very picky though, the car is excellent! Just an odd thing to design into it. Mark. Quote
