Guest TruBlu Posted January 24, 2011 Posted January 24, 2011 G'day, i would like to introduce myself and my newly purchased C5. I am now a happy owner, and naturally have a few questions.I know alot of what im asking is covered in different sections, but i will list just a few niggles with C5. I picked up my Estate last Thursday, its a 2.2 HDi SX, 51 plate,121k on the clock.ice blue metallic. To put it simply, I love it! Truth be known i used to sell them a number of years ago(if i sold you a bad'un i am truly sorry!!!),and have to say that im really pleased that they depreciated so much as it means i could finally get one! The few small issues so far, are as follows1.I have no info showing about fuel mpg, range, etc and no over-speed warning. The rest of the display seems to be ok.2.Bulb on LHS of MFD needs replacing3.Clean Diesel Filter, on display.4.Suspension switch in boot not activating. Also 12v socket seems not to working, could be linked? Happilly just minor things(i hope) Common sense would be the follow a process of elimation, but unsure of where to start with the lack of info regarding fuel etc My head is swimming with lots of info from reading lots of posts.Just want to get to know my car better,so i can treat her right. Has anyone have any experience with Citrotech based in Bristol? Many ThanksTim Quote
paul.h Posted January 24, 2011 Posted January 24, 2011 1. I have read here that you can fit the 2 line display unit to cars with the 1 line one without any problems. 3. Looks like it is due a fuel filter replacement, should be about every 40k miles. You are probably at the mileage where the exhaust particulate filter needs replacing unless this has been done. Haynes do a manual for the C5 which is useful but does not cover the 2.2 hdi engine although there is a French RTA (ETAI) one which can be obtained direct from ETAI and possibly Amazon's French site. Many thanks for your reply, appreciate that. As far as Im aware i do have the 2 line display unit, its definitely got 2 lines showing. The other issue is that the ambient temp gauge is showing Summertime!! 30.c,I wish.I am in the process of contacting previous owner regarding service history, the car is in really decent condition and it would surprise me that there isn't any history from the last record of 57k. On the fuel filter, im assuming that its a d.i.y job?.Many Thanks Quote
paul.h Posted January 24, 2011 Posted January 24, 2011 The filter is DIY although when I was going to do mine, I bought the parts (about £16 ?) but the dealer fit it free when doing an oil change service which saved me disposing of the diesel. The temp sensor in the left door mirror may need replacing. Quote

Guest TruBlu Posted February 1, 2011 Posted February 1, 2011 Hiya people,I'm still having trouble sorting some little niggling issues, one being the fuel info on the display.I do have type B display, and most items are working, but have no info on any fuel details etc. After thinking on it for a week, could it be a sensor connection somewhere,or the stalk faulty? I'm thinking that the display is ok,as its coming up with all the other info. Another niggle is that the cd player is very hit and miss with reading cd's.I will be getting a cd lense cleaner, hopefully this will work, simpliest and cheapest, fingers crossed. The rear window doesnt open, but thats a job for summertime,(gives me a day and a half then!!) and the rear suspension doesn't adjust with switch in the boot, and am thinking that maybe when previous owner had the towbar fitted, that something was done to the wiring. The 12 v sockets don't work at all, ciggie lighter does.just thinking that this is connected to to possible wiring with t.bar.oh, and the ambient temp sensor is dreaming of summer! it reached 42c this morning.
