Guest legs Posted February 9, 2011 Posted February 9, 2011 2003 Citroen C5 LX 2.0 HDi First of all let me say that unlike others I love my Citroen - HOWEVERThe suspension sprang a leak and proceeded to dump all of the LDS from the system all over my drive. The pipe that sprang the leak was the long one that runs from front to rear (pipe 1?)This has now been replaced and the LDS replenished however the suspension is not raising. When the remote unlock is used the electric pump used to kick in and settle the car level - It no longer switches on however. When the key is in the ignition the pump does run but sounds as if it may be running dry.The bleed at the front has fluid coming from it but the bleed from the rear does notFront and rear height sensors checked and all okMy independent mechanic is stumpedMy questions:-1) In the event of failure of this type do any codes need to be reset etc?2) Is there a way to prime the pump3) What other reason could there be for this issueI have contacted the local citroen dealer for assistance but in their usual style they have refused to help unless the car is with them as it needs to be on their code machine - Hoping this is not true as I have no way of getting the car to them apart from paying a ridiculous recovery charge. Can Anyone Help - Paul Quote
Guest legs Posted February 9, 2011 Posted February 9, 2011 SORTED!!!! Started car and jacked up the rear end - fluid drawn through to rear suspension goes up & pump comes on normally etc Simples? Happy days Quote
Guest legs Posted February 9, 2011 Posted February 9, 2011 Whilst I fixed my suspension using the above method I have received another method via an ebay seller which may be of use to some members. 'Obtain a second oil filler cap, drill and fit a bicycle inner tube valve - fit the cap and using a cycle / foot pump pressurise the tank to 8psi. Turn on the ignition and move the ride height up and down. The pump should operate as normal if evrything else is OK' Hope this helps someone out there Quote
paul.h Posted February 9, 2011 Posted February 9, 2011 A similar method to bleed the system after refilling using external pressure is mentioned in the Haynes C5 manual but using something such as Gunsons easy bleed. Quote
