Guest C3 for me Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 (edited) Hi Does anyone have problems with their 2010 C3 diesel and the particulate filter? I have only had my car (from new) for 6 weeks and already I've had the "Risk of Particulate Filter" message come up dozens of times, plus the Engine Management light coming on with "Engine Fault Repair Required" message coming up too. The dealer tells me that there is nothing wrong with the filter, but MAYBE there's a problem with the emissions sensor being over-sensitive. A new sensor has been ordered. I get the feeling that this is a new problem that no one knows too much about. Anyone have any advice? Update on 24 Feb - the dealer has now replaced the pressure sensor in the particulate filter. So far I've had no more warning lights appearing. I'm hoping this has fixed the problem permanently. Thanks for your replies. Update on 28 Feb - guess what, the "Risk of Particulate Filter" message is back again, despite the dealer fitting a new sensor. Contacted the dealer, who is going to "try some other parts" when I take the car in again this week. That will be 5 trips to the dealer for a new car that I've only had for 8 weeks. Starting to lose patience...... Update on 23 Mar - well, the car's been back to the dealer twice since my last post (with the same error messages/fault). They've had the car for 2 days and just phoned to tell me that they DID actually find something wrong and have fixed it. I pick up the car tonight so we'll see. My fingers are crossed and recrossed. paul.h Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 Unless you have been doing 10k miles a week, it is unlikely the filter will have already blocked up. The pressure either side of the filter is measured so maybe the inlet pressure sensor is reading high as would happen if the filter was blocked but the messages may refer to something else. Quote

I do about 60km per day, averaging 300 km per week, so I'm sure that's it's not from lack of driving. I do drive through peak hour traffic - just can't avoid it. Quote
