Guest kimosabe Posted February 18, 2011 Posted February 18, 2011 Hi Guys..2001 C5 2.2 hdi sxJust checked the LDS fluid level today (car sitting on lowest level) and it was low,I could see that fluid was still present in the reservoir, about half way up the tank.I haven't topped it up yet ,but got the fluid at an Indy garage for £10 litre.I was wondering is there anything I should do once I have topped up the fluid to the correct level. i.e. to the bottom of the basket. Does the system need bled or anything, or do I just go up and down the car levels a few times.and what is the usual cause of fluid loss...TIA.Davie Quote

Correct me if I'm wrong anybody.. Quote
coastline taxis Posted February 19, 2011 Posted February 19, 2011 Seefive is quite correct fill to the seem only Quote

Guest will1314nat Posted February 26, 2011 Posted February 26, 2011 Guys, kinda worried about this one, the sticker on the bottle says that the system should only be touched by a citroen garage (to stop contamination etc etc) so is it safe to just top up the fluid???? Total LDS I believe.Just wondering as I had a a leak due to a severed pipe. and must have lost a shed load of fluid. Ride is still fine but I think it must need topping up. The only problem with the bottle is that you can hardly see through it (unless you shine a torch in the dark through the bottle). Due to low fluid would this make the power steering (occasionally) noisy??? If I rememeber corrctly the old citroens ran everything from one reservoir but the C5 is different??? Any thoughtsCheers Quote
Johndouglas Posted March 5, 2011 Posted March 5, 2011 but is there anything I should do after I bring the fluid to the correct level.. I checked mine a few weeks ago. First check in six years. I dropped the suspension, removed the top and considered the level was a bit low. I put in a third of a can, replaced the top, started up and raised and lowered a couple of times, and its been fine since. Quote
