You might want to turn the volume down on the unit to stop it annoying you, if you want to disable it totally you will find the control unit situated above the glovebox. Quote

winos Posted June 20, 2010 Posted June 20, 2010 :) I don't know if you are still suffering but someone out there must still be. I did not want to renew and the cost is about £40.00 per annum I believe. She was driving me mad so I investigated disbling the unit. I found the traffic-master unit under the dashboard above the glovebox. It's necessary to remove the glovebox and feel upwards to find the unit which is a small black box slid onto a plate. Carefully slide it off and lower it down so you can see the cable harness connections. We found that by cutting the green wire at pin 3 of the connector and insulating both ends so that it can be re-enabled in the future will remove the 12V supply to the unit and shut her up.Regards :o Quote

Randombloke Posted June 23, 2010 Posted June 23, 2010 Each time you disconnect the battery you will have to re-enter your code number if you did not get it when you got the car see if the last owner has it Longdead I didn't think the newer ones needed the nuber entered each time. Any way, it only lasts for a year and is about £30 + VAT to renew. If you go to http://www.trafficmaster.net/login.asp and click on the Oracle/Freeway renew button, all should be explained. Keepn a record of the PIN you get in case it does forget. However, normally Trafficmaster doesn't make a lot of noise so sometimes this is a warning that the battery is getting tired. If you press the Trafficmaster button twice you can flip through the modes and choose manual mode which means it only talks when you press the button. If you press the button 3 times you can adjust the volume, so you can pick level 0 or 1 and then ignore it. Please can a mod or admin look at this thread - Firefox is unable to display any posts beyong the second one from kfk. Quote
