Not knowing how to get the car out of a sideways orientation! I was coming up a hill, there was a mild turn at the top, came round the corner at 55-60MPH, and there was a dip in the road surface mid corner, therefore the turning wheels lost traction, therefore the whole car went sideways, i got the back end back, but it just went the other way, THEN i got the car to go straight,............. straight into a bush/tree, the front end dug in, the car dipped onto the passenger side (setting off the passenger side curtain airbags and the airbag in the passenger side. Luckily the car ended up with all four wheels on the ground! Basically, by the time i managed to sort out the back end............it was all way too late! My father was the one who bought it, and no he didnt. Not sure i could handle a car sales at the moment, havent had any experience and would have no confidence at a main dealer! Also it was not my money to spend in the first place!

Sooner or later. I now am thankfull of the cars safety, and so are my parents, so we will have to wait untill the insurance company's settlement, then work out the difference, and work from there. It looks like the insurance quote for next year will be about £1200, which is not as bad as we were expecting, so all depends on the insurance company's offer. 1.4 VTR's seem to be the cheapest on the second hand market anyway, which is good, there is a black one (early 2005) for around £7995, so at least there are some out there! Just worried about what my friends parents are going to think about me and my driving!

Sadly yes! :( I was not even allowed to see it!! :D ) They are going to send some pics of the car soon. I will post them in a NEW thread! I loved that car so much! The insurance company are still sorting everything out at the moment. We found out that i did over £8500 worth of damage! Not hard when you realise that ONE headlight is £850!!!! :o (Both of which were in perfect nic! :) Something is fishy about this!) I am a good driver, but have yet to learn the car control skills that i would like to! I would like to do a skid-pan session, advanced drivers course, ect ect. I am a good driver in the sence of everyday driving, but admit that i could not get a car out of the sort of spin that happened. Not sure many people could! Scary really! I did let it out in a previous thread, but as you could imagine, i was quite sheepish about it! Guess there are positives: 1. I know that a C4 is rediculously safe! 2. I know that i NEED to learn more car control in the event of something bad happening (hopefully i will never need to use them!). 3. I know that this particular road is very dangerous, and so are many other country roads. 4. You're never too young to die! (I know, I Know  ..... very sad, but true) .....and yes that quote is from a movie! :D Stormbreaker.

Very true! Im not sure if anyone saw the newspaper a week ago, but there was an article about country roads, and the fact that the 60mph is actually unsafe in places. A month ago i would have said that was rubbish, but after having written off my C4( :D ), i believe this to be correct. The police that came to my accident said that they get called out there all the time and that it is a very dangerous piece of road! I am not saying that the speed limit needs to be put down in all these dangerous places, but there should be some indication of the severity of danger. p.s. I was not breaking the "safe" speed limit at the time.

:D :)

That is a very nice kit, i would happily drive that car! Really like the colour aswell! One MINOR niggle would be the front wheel arch though, just dont like the "pointy" look that appears at the bottom of the front spoiler.

my mates over there (in spain) and he said that there were loads over there too! Hope that does not happen over here! I love the exclusivity! :D

Whoever told me about photobucket deserves the praise, not me

yeah, that was a typing error. I meant i end up putting the windows up after a minute or so. It is because when it is off, the air used comes from outside, therefore it is hot (im guessing you only have the aircon on the coldest setting when it is warm or hot :D  ). But when you put the recirculate on, the air used is the air in the car, therefore when the aircon ends up putting out cold air, the air con is making cold air colder, rather than trying to make hot air cold. :D
-
I dont think that Mat's picture really gives Oriental Blue any justice to be honest! Oriental Blue looks VERY slick
-
On the aircon note, my aircon gets freezing!! In the heat wave I: 1. Put the windows down 2. Put the aircon on full, and on its coldest setting. 3. Put the recirculate on. It gets cold enough to put the windows down before i have reached the end of our lane! I also have the manual air-con, but it has been great, i end up having to put the fan on a low setting and not on the coldest setting because it gets so cold! Has been much colder since i was told that it gets colder with the recirculate on (obvious really!! ).

Do you mean the screen?? or the stereo controls?? Both are illuminated in mine, the screen always (obviously) and the stereo controls when the lights are on. I have the standard stereo and screen.

The wheels were not off the ground, its just that there was no weight on them, and therefore no traction. The body had not gone with the wheels. Ditto!

Yep! I am so thankfull that it happened in a C4. Dont want to think about want could of happened if i was in a different car! Keep getting upset about the car forgetting how lucky i was! It seems really gay, but for my birthday (or for passing my test) one of my really good mates gave me a twenty pound note with "lucky" written on it. I was laughing about it saying that i could not spend it (myself being superstitious)! I put it in my wallet and my wallet is always in my car. Now i am so thankfull that he gave it to me! Police told me i was very lucky! From what they see everyday i can take that comment as truth! As you can imagine it is not all crystal clear! I know i tried to correct the back end steering the other way, then had to correct it the other way! I would imagine i did hit the brakes, but cant say for sure. Would i be right in saying the best way to correct the back end going out would be to hit the accelerator??

My father bought my C4 in Manchester, even tough we live in sussex! It was the only one in the country that met our request! Stopped there on the way to a business meeting to buy it, then stopped on the way back to collect it, and drove it all the way down here! Am i Lucky to have him?? YES! We use the Citroen in Tunbridge Wells for most things. They are very good there. Used to use the one in Crawley but they were not great, they know how to plug in a MP3 player, tunbridge wells dont! Have to get the insurance company to sort out the car before crawley can put the MP3 player in, because i crashed the car two days ago! :( I am not going to lie, It WAS my fault, I was the only one involved, and the only person in the car. Came up a hill, there was a large dip in the road, the car was still "on the up", therefore no wheels had any traction, back end came out one way, then the other, went into a tree/bush, tipped over on the passenger side, all the passenger side airbags went off. Ended up on the wrong side of the road, facing the other way! :( Came out completly unscaved! The police said that this road was EXTREMELY dangerous! I drive it everyday, i have heard that is the way it goes! I feel terrible! :( Car has substantial damage on the passenger side (perfect on the drivers side!!), Insurance will go sky high! They might even right the car off! Anyone here had an accident? P.S I know what everyone is going to think: "Boy Racer" or "***oops*** Driver" :( , well you would be wrong! I know that it was down to two things: 1. A dangerous road 2. Inexperience Thats it!

In a heart beat!!! But if i was picky, it would be a caterham 7!

What non C4 owners dont realise is that the wipers are NOT ment to be pulled back when they are down. That is why when you take the keys out, tap the wiper stalk down once, the wipers go up and stay up, THEN you can lift them up!

C4 In For Brake 'fix' & Engine Mount Problems
Ciaran2903 replied to Welshguy's topic in C4 - Technical
Thats no problem my friend! That was something that the VTS owners were wondering why that didnt happen, because in the manual it says that this should happen to aid reversing! (seems to me there are admitting that there mirrors are crap! :o ) -
I have the 3D molded mats....... there are nice. The drivers mat is really nice! Looks as if there were the original carpets

C4 In For Brake 'fix' & Engine Mount Problems
Ciaran2903 replied to Welshguy's topic in C4 - Technical
Are you basing that on your C4? or other cars that you have owned? Because cars do not hit a certain mileage (in this case 40K) and then "all sorts of bits start to drop off!" My car has an extended warranty (cant remember the amount of extra years) and the mileage limit is 120,000 miles, not 40K! There are things in this world that ARE designed not to last, but the manufactures are clever enough NOT to have the warranty cover that period! Car companies are not stupid! If their cars did what you say, then there is no way that they would offer a warranty that would exceed the "magic mileage" when they become rubbish! I think that quote is rubbish!! Anyone here, other that Z3M Roadster, have a C4 that has passed 40K? Have bits "started to fall off it"?? It would be interesting to see the results! -
O.K :D thanks, there is no way in hell that i am going to risk getting 3 points!!! Cheers!

Just enquiring about window tints, imo my C4 (as all C4's) would look great with tints. I know Welshguy has tints, but dont know if any1 else has. I am not sure who to use, how much to pay ect ect ect. I know of the 70% law :D , but know that Welshguy managed to get tints darker than that. How did you manage that??? Because there would not really be much point in only getting the back windows tinted because they are sooooo big! Any info would be great, thanks

That seems to be the only logical option! I had to pick my jaw off the floor after i read the MPG! I had a Jemery Clarkson moment! (i.e, yelling at an inanimate car! ) I hope no-one saw me! :P It went some thing like...... How the ***** **** ****** *** ***** ****** *** ****** **** *** do you ***** **** **** *** ******* **** *** lose that many ***********miles to the gallon you ******* ***** of ****!! Then.... Im REALLY REALLY sorry! :D Doesnt stop me loving my C4 like mad! :D

I thought that the way google made up the list was: 1. The websites containing the search words (Obviously) 2. The websites that have the most amounts of links to them (In a way... its popularity). I might be wrong though.
-
I filled up, reset the MPG, got home (about 10 miles), it read 39 MGP. Didnt drive it till the next day, got in it in the morning, it read 34 MPG!!!! :D How the hell does that work?!?!
