  1. As my school woodwork instructor would say "check, recheck, and then check again" I still remember his catchphrase over 30 years ago.
  2. The only CAN-BUS adapter I have seen advertised with reverse audio warning uses a cheap buzzer type device and they want £100 extra, making it nearly £200 just for the CAN-BUS adapter with reverse warning. They can get stuffed. :o
  3. If you have not damaged the key in any way, either physical or liquid damage, then the warranty should cover the fault. So if you haven't dropped your key down the toilet or beaten it with a hammer, then you should be covered. :o
  4. Are you sure about this? How is the reverse warning audio routed with the adapter? Which CAN-BUS adapter did you use? Model Number?
  5. VTS already has security wheel nuts and alarm. I would move house if things are that bad. Isn't this what we pay insurance for, or don't people have insurance these days?
  6. I have the same. It's a space saver wheel/tyre and is common in most cars these days. Perfectly normal.
  7. You can now buy the CAN-BUS steering wheel adapters for many makes such as Pioneer, Blaupunkt, Becker, but they do cost about £90 for some of them, and they don't offer the parking warning signal if you have that fitted on your C4.
  8. I would not have let the Citroen dealer fit any tyres to my car if I had the choice. The dealer is not the police, and it's upto you if you drive with 'illegal' tyres until you find a better deal. They charged me £25 per wheel just for balancing when i was not happy with wheel vibration. I would imagine them charging £300 for each Michelin tyre if they were given the chance!
  9. I have had loads of sets of new front tyres in my lifetime, and never once has a tyre dealer told me they are going to put the new tyres on the rear.
  10. I think that would be true for RWD cars but not FWD. ? Have seen it mentioned plenty of times, but not many do that.
  11. Got this from Which members page. Tyres review Marangoni Vanto (205/55R16V) The 205/55R16V Marangoni Vanto can be fitted to various medium and large cars, but it falls short of the mark for wet grip and its overall test performance is low enough that we recommend you Don't Buy it at all. I would not believe all Which? reviews though.
  12. Never heard of them, but did a Google and found them. They are italian and STS and Black Circle are the main UK retailers in UK. I would guess they are absolute bottom of the range, and maybe they are remoulds like Slowfit would sell?
  13. I got six for about that price on eBay a while back.
  14. I think someone mentioned it was a feature on the C5. C4 does not have the controls for the driver to deal with it. Kfk would say, no point in enabling every possible feature on the C4, for reasons such as this. ;)
  15. It seems your BSI unit firmware is probably corrupted. It possibly happened when the dealer last changed something? I lost my auto lighting feature when a similar thing happened to my VTS. Take it back to the dealer to fix, as the C4 should not have a speed alarm. ;)
  16. I had new front tyres at 21,000 miles on my HDi VTS so it seems about normal. I decided to try Falken branded tyres that were about £80 each, as they get good reviews, and they grip very well in wet and dry. Look back on old posts if you want the model number of the tyres. Not sure how long they will last, but as they are half the price of the Michelins I would expect to get at least 12,000 miles out of them, and I do drive hard. So far am happy.
  17. I heard Citroen use French knickers as a cam belt. Worth looking under your hood for some of these. :P  http://www.lasenza.co.uk/french_knickers.asp
  18. 1) I have seen boot problems on here before, so probably a common fault. 2) I had a similar leakage onto passenger mat a while back, and it was just a heater plug incorrectly fitted. No need to have the dash out if it's the same thing. Knowing the French, they probably build faults into the cars, as it keeps them in a job. :( Howz it go.
  19. 1) Not heard of any steering problems before 2) I did have a knocking noise from my NSF. Dealer replaced front shock absorbers which did not help much, but the fault cleared after the first service for unknown reason. 3) Don't know. 4) Some people have had this. Engine mountings? Can't remember what it was, but if you search the forum I think welshguy had a similar fault. 5) Well known software bug that can be fixed by the dealer. 6) Turn the RDS off !!

    Windscreen

Thanks kfk, I will check the things you mentioned when done. The Autoglass call centre staff seem a waste of time if they don't listen to what I tell them. At least the fitters that did turn up seemed interested in my car, and they knew that 2 people are required to fit the screen. Will let you know what happens. ;)

    Car Tax

    It's actually now £205
  23. Just had Autoglass turn up with the wrong windscreen for my car. ;) I did specify it has heat reflective glass and the rain sensor when they phoned me. Originally they ordered a screen without the rain sensor, and the one today did not have the heat reflective glass. They call it solar glass. It looks like it's going to take 3 days now just to get a new windscreen fitted. Not happy. :P

    Car Tax

    £115 now for 2.0HDi (Was £110) ;)
  25. The warranty does not include the glovebox anymore. Too many people made claims for breaking them. Make sure you dont put anything in there that could get stuck, such as maps, cards etc.
