  1. My nearside suspension has an ongoing knocking noise, but strangely it has hardly been noticeable since the last service, and the dealer has already replaced the front shocks. It has now been reported as "under investigation by Citroen" which probably means it will never get fixed. There are some things under the bonnet that could be to blame, as I think my air filter housing makes a knocking sound when it moves, and that is on the nearside, but don't think it's that. My car has now developed an internal rattle which is currently disguising all the other knocking and rattling noises that need fixing. Latest one seems to be coming from glovebox area, if anyone knows what that could be?
  2. Had mine done December cost £244. It is every 20,000 miles for 2.0 HDi.
  3. In this thread I mentioned about the rear mirrors and reverse. It's also interesting that since that thread I did eventually get my visual reverse enabled despite being told it's not possible. I am sure the reversing door mirror tilt should also be working, or maybe it is just on the exclusive, but is surely another one of those items that could easily be enabled. The dealers seem to be reluctant to even try these things! It reminds me of when I had my Audi A4, and the dealer told me it was not possible to disable the sound from the alarm when it's set from the key. I ended up doing it myself with VAG-COM software from the internet, and an OBD interface cable from China. :D
  4. £7,000 for air fresheners. ;) :)

    Power Mod

Don't even think about it!! A company selling ring tones and unlock codes for mobile phones are not going to be experts in car tuning. :o That car was running on nitro, and did not have this thing on it if i remember correctly !
  6. While you are there, ask them about the door mirrors that are supposed to tilt when you select reverse. :D
  7. RD4N2M does play MP3's. RD4N1 does not. Are you sure that was MP3 and not just a CDR with CD audio converted from MP3 which NERO7 does very well. If it's an MP3 CD then you would have about 8 normal CD's on one disk. An audio CD only holds about 20 tracks at the very most.
  8. You would not want an Audi/VW as you would have nothing to complain about apart from the very expensive servicing and spare parts. <_< :P :P

    Tyres

The warning about cleaning tyres was in the instructions with my Karcher pressure washer which I have had for several years. I have used my pressure washer for stripping paint off the garage which works quite well. I only use the pressure washer with an approved brush for car cleaning, and the water pressure is very low.
  10. There are NO cameras on top of traffic lights. They are just radar sensors to detect traffic flow, so they know how much traffic is flowing and the speed. They don't enforce any laws.
  11. The diesel gets it's power at low revs and that's why it feels quicker. 0-60 times are quite meaningless really. The diesel accelerates faster than petrol equivalent in the mid range speeds, so 50-70mph will be quicker than the petrol equivalent.
  12. How can a stone smashing the windscreen be a stress fracture? :) I guess it was stressed by the stone? :o
  13. Regarding traction control in the snow, I think the handbook only says to turn it off if you are stuck in snow/ice, and want to get out of a hole! The rest of normal driving it should be on. :)
  14. The independants are not all good and have their fair share of cowboys, and I speak from experience. When I had Audi A4 was fed up with paying Audi prices for servicing, so tried a so called Audi/VW specialist in Oxford. I had service done and asked them to change the antifreeze. Went to pick the car up and was a bit early so waited in reception. Other customers turned up to collect their cars and every one they said they changed the windscreen wipers were worn out and had replaced them to add £30 to the bill the cheeky buggers, and they also did it with me, and people were not given the option to keep the old ones. Anyway next day car overheats and breakdown has to be called out. Car is returned to cowboys, and they tell me that the hose clip was not fitted properly! Is that not a basic thing to check when you are replacing antifreeze!
  15. The best customer care I have had was from Toyota, and that's going back a few years when had a company car. With the same employer I had a Ford and a Citroen as company cars, but Toyota really knew how to treat the customer. Also nothing ever went wrong with the car, not even a squeak!
  16. That can't be right? What insurance company is that? Do you live on a desert island, and only drive to the local tesco every week? I have about 8 years no claims, am older than you, and yet pay a lot more !! And yes I have shopped around.
  17. My present insurance company use Autoglass. Maybe if I get it done at work, which is near Birmingham, they would have more experience as would see more cars, than a small town where I live.
  18. So far for me Citroen have been the only people able to balance my wheels, but at £50 a go it's not cheap. Does anyone know a tyre fitting company that can balance C4 wheels properly?
  19. My windscreen was damaged this week by a stone. There was a massive crack sound as I joined he motorway, and said to myself what the ***oops*** was that! It was not until the next day that I saw the damage, which is 2 cracks about 4inches long on passenger side and very low down, below dashboard level which is why I could see no damage, but just inside the wiper swept area. if you feel the external glass there is no damage, but on the inside of car there is glass fragments on the dash, and you can just feel the chipped part. After having had a windscreen replaced on my last car Audi A4, I know that a lot of these fitters are a bunch of incompetant cowboys, and am reluctant to get it replaced for damage that cannot really be seen. When the car reaches MOT age, I guess it might have to be replaced, and the crack would have probably spread by that time.
  20. Insurance company will hike up your premium by adding a spoiler. If you don't tell them, they will not pay out in event of a crash. Online insurance quotes to add a spoiler would have added more than cost of the spoiler itself.
  21. As ham's would say.... I am not convinced ! :) Why would dirt on the lens cause it to melt? If anything HID's run cooler than filament bulbs or so I thought.
  22. My passenger side door handle was always sticking open. The dealer fixed that for me at 20,000 mile service just after xmas. Seems OK now. :)

    C4 Pre Reg Help

I am sure there is only a glass roof option which does not open, and is about £500.
  24. It's not worth it really, just throwing your money away. As long as you stick to the recommended service intervals there should be no problem. If it aint broken don't fix it.
  25. The washers are to prevent light scatter from a dirty lens. Also found on the evo forum that people have got through MOT no problem with aftermarket HID kits. The washers and self levelling suspension only applies to new cars.
