yeah probably worth the wait although its hard to be patient as i really want one! could look at a decent citroen finance scheme so it would be easy to replace the c4 with another after a certain amount of time.
-
fitting it though? thats gna cost. i agree it would be fun just not for me i would just rather buy a pulsar, i love them
-
true sleeper! some people have more money than sense though. imagine how much hes spent on that micra, n yeah its quick but its a micra!

i have to say the dash in that c4 picasso looks amazing. that would look really good inside the c4. when is the facelift coming out? might be worth sticking with the clio till next year then. cheaper insurance in february too as i will have a years no claims
-
didnt know there was going to be a facelift model. so does anyone know what its going to have? a six speed gearbox in the petrol vts would be nice. hehe i remember buying a good old nokia 3210 and then the "new and more high tech" nokia 3310 came out the next week :D i was gutted haha

yeah i wouldnt expect to get much off a used one at all. but then again i dont expect to find a used one with the spec i want at all and to be honest it doesnt seem one of those new car prices where u feel completely ripped off

well after a while of looking around and various insurance qoutes ive decided i want a petrol c4 vts. Now i would want to buy used but the petrol vts's are rare enough used let alone one thats black, has jbl, leather, panoramic sunroof and sat nav lol. My question is how much bargaining is there to be done. i realise they are giving silly amounts of cashback but what are the chances of getting extras in for free. now i realise their not going to throw in sat nav or the leather for free but what about things like jbl? or are they non negotiable. i have no problem with the price as there is no other car on the market that spec'd for tat price but i might as well try and get the best price i can. p.s if you know of a black vts with jbl, sat nav, leather and panoramic sunroof give me a shout lol

oh god wow funny!

i'm claiming through the motor insurers bereau with a solicitor thanks to my legal cover (£16 well spent, the only bit of my insurance policy thats any good) but he says they take so long so it could be another year till i get the money. police cant even tell me if their prosecuting him. if they do it will be a one yr ban and £40 fine which wont even stop him driving.

awesome!

already said the insurance on a 182 is ridiculous. plus already got a clio and fancy a change.

my point exactly that is an "experience" i just want to clarify that my accident, i couldn't have done anything about it. i was coming up a road at 30 and saw a car waiting to pull out but it was my rite of way, i checked to make sure he wasnt pulling out and he didnt then when i got upto it he just pulled out and didnt see me and went into me. he was a young driver, like i said there are some stupid ones about but im not. hes also uninsured, and it means i have now already spent 1500 on fixing my car, my first car, the first car i saved so much to buy and the car i pay 1850 a year insurance whilst the other guy pays nothing

alot comes down to the level of confidence, if a driver is over confident they are likely to drive beyond their skills but if they arent confident enough to beleive they are competant they shouldnt be on the road either. there is no way you can put it plainly down to how long you have had your license. some idiot crashed into me, therefore i have had a crash through no fault of my own, does that make me a bad driver? there are plenty of young idiots around on the road, but its not down to inexperience its over confidence. but bare in mind young drivers get grouped more, 17 - 25 is an easier target to direct all this at than 25+ every age group has its idiots. its not just down to experience. i havent had my license too long but after my experience with that crash i feel it has made me more alert and more aware so how do i compare to a driver whos had his license 10 years with no accidents but thinks they can walk on water and that they are the best driver ever. theres so many factors you have to think about, its not just experience, its the type of person you are, confidence etc... its just not that clear cut, simple as imo.

just because you are a new driver does not mean you are a bad one. i find with quite a few people they are better than drivers who have been driving for decades. someone who has just passed their test has all the theory and do's and don'ts firmly embedded in their minds and you have to look it in this way, a driver of 40 years has had 40 years to pick up bad habits. i notice it with my dads driving style and my own. But, on the other hand, quite often young drivers are over confident and think they are better than they are. these are in the minority i think but these are the people that make my insurance so high and make some judgemental people view all young drivers as wreckless boy racers. if you have been driving for years you undoubtably have more experience, but that doesnt mean your a better driver. young vs older, i think if your careful and take into consideration all the things that have been said then you are ok. whatever age or length of driving there are idiots about everywhere regardless of age
-
well i had an accident 4 months ago which has almost wrote off my clio. the accident wasnt my fault and the driver was uninsured and about my age (18) and i feel a better driver for it. especially when an accident isn't your fault i feel it makes you more aware of other drivers and their driving styles. its not as simple as been competant with your own car as you never know if an idiot will pull out of a junction when its your rite of way. i feel now that i am more aware of this and every other car on the road you have to be ready for them doing the most stupid thing you can imagine because it does happen. and as for been a good driver, i think another important aspect is to never drive beyond what you feel comfortable with. if you go round a corner and think "damn i nearly lost it there" then you shouldnt drive like that, drive to your own ability and never push it. no matter how fast i drive i never have or never will risk it and really push it.

so is there anyone on this site who has a petrol vts that would like to share their views?
-
well dont think a megane 225 is gonna happen, insurance companies dont tend to like 225bhp turbo petrol cars and 18 year olds. c4 c4 c4. it makes sense to me now
-
yeah true lol. i think 225 would be plenty for me, god 180 would be tbh. i guess i will have to drive them both, hard to get a testdrive at 18 as people dont think i'm serious about buying one
-
yeah true, might drive 225 prices down a bit and if they cn make it 250 im sure a 225 could be made into a 250 lol
-
lol. oh god the meganes thrown into the ring now. so when does it become a 250?
-
i'm same username as here but ive only had about 4 posts lol, just its a good resource for clios. ah yeah i see that but dont worry, i want to go on my own name. makes sense in the long run and saves money in the long term too.
-
true plus it looks meaner!!! but a c4 looks really interesting, innovative inside, toss up between amazing performance and the sensible yet stylish option
-
what insurance group is the meg tho? very nice car. not so sure its as nicer car to be in for long driving tho
-
when did i say i would be getting insured on my dads policy? all the quotes i gave were in my own name and i stated they were the reasons i couldnt afford the cars like CTR and 182. i would never commit insurance fraud, as i stated in my original post, i have lost my current car because of an uninsured driver hitting me and trust me, the problems it has left me with are unbeleivable. thats why i view it as a pro for the c4, insurance is at least half the price of a 182 or ctr to insure. as for getting a diesel, i don't want one, the petrol one seems good enough economy for me, some people are diesel, some arent i guess.
