well i cant afford those premiums for the type r and 182. but i could if i bought the cars used if you see what i mean. well ive fallen into a new job, so new job new car. idiots havent got their hands on the c4 and i dont think they will hence the cheap insurance. you know anything about serious modifications to this car, just out of interest? surely a turbo couldnt be that hard to put on one of these and it could be a silly fast car

they dont have corners to go round over there lol. well when im replacing my car with 1 yrs no claims at 18 these are my best qoutes: C4 vts 180 - 1750 clio 182 - 5200 civic type r - 5500 alfa 147 2.0 - 2200

some insurers think if you have a backbox your going to crash and bump it up loads which is understandable with all the chavs in corsas about but it depends who your with. mind you i hear the vts 180 makes a pretty sweet sound anyway. cant wait to go from 80bhp to 180bhp lol

like that rear exhaust on that car. insurance are quite generous if its just a backbox, if it doesnt add performance they wont add too much. they added £16 to my policy for the backbox on my clio and nothing for a pipercross air filter cos it does nothing to the car but makes it sound nice, depends who your insured with though. will be getting a c4 when i have my one yrs no claims i think n its gna cost me about £1750 fully comp on my own name. would cost me £4500 if i got it now lol. might get on my dads name and save even more lol

yeah i think i just was a little wary as cars have their brand images dont they. i think all new cars are reasonably good now tbh. my mate has a bmw 116i n i was suprised at how poor quality that was though. would be nice for a site where you could get advice. a nice site with young drivers, i mean if i get a c4 i would like to make a few changes to it, nothing too big but a nice exhaust to help it hummmm nicely and maybes lower it.

yeah its an amazing design inside and out. and as you said its fast as hell and economical too. compared to other 1.6s and 2.0s of similar size it is an amazing car. you also get tonnes of gadgets for what you pay

lol thats some lazy gear changing. not really a big c4 community online, unless you know any other sites? i mean im a member of www.cliosport.net and that site is wonderful and you can find out everything. theres nothing like that for the c4.

so whats the interior feel like? solidly built? or a bit cheap? that centre display looks so nice, like my gadgets lol n i dnt think theres another car near it for that. around this pricegroup anyway

if only i was over 25 lol. do they do it on the vts 180? might be worth getting my parents to do it and i can see what its like in the flesh

thats not bad at all. i think though, its probably the only car out there that i wouldnt feel like i was throwing money away plus i could get it to my exact spec without having to compromise, if the exact one i want comes up for sale used its mine lol!!! by the way, does anyone have the panoramic sunroof on here?

well a petrol vts loaded with the jbl system, panoramic sunroof, black perlescent and full leather interior is £16,820 after cashback (£3000) deducted. lot of car for that money i think. nothing seems to come near it for that price new. if i could find one that spec i would buy used i think but not too bothered about buying new at that price

anyway, whats the dealers and reliability like? how good is that jbl system, worth getting?

the diesel is 1.5 secs slower to 60 and i know its not all about 0 - 60 but its that diesel soundtrack along the way, its slower at the top end too plus i hear the diesel version lacks some of the little styling extras the petrol one has.

oh yeah i realise that. i dont know tho, just the sound of a diesel is so offputting for me. i'm still a young guy and bare in mind im also considering a clio 182 i jst dont think i could go with a diesel.

so in that case what do you reckon the petrol vts is pushing out? i am very sceptical of manufacturers performance figures.

Hi there, i'm a brand new member and its been suprisingly hard to find a c4 forum. Well i currently own a Renault (Rubbish) clio but due to an uninsured driver smashing into it, and a new job with more funds im looking for a change, and i'm really wanting a citroen c4 petrol vts 180. However there are a few little things that i was wondering about: whats the performance like? i'm used to my little clio and have test drove a clio 182 and that was amazing however insurance and day to day comfort just isnt there. I am not after a super quick car and i can see that the c4 vts is 2 secs slower to 60, but i want a car that pulls and feels like you have some power in any gear. What is it like on motorways, if you need to overtake does it just pull nicely rather than having to hammer it. whats it like driving in different environments? town, country, motorway etc... basically the choice is between three cars and theres pros and cons for all of them. Renaultsport clio 182 - pros - ridiculously quick and fun, know and love clios handling and looks, even if it is a tiny car. cons - 2.5 times higher insurance than the c4, doesnt strike me as a comfortable long distance ride. Alfa Romeo 147 T lusso 2.0 3door - pros - beatiful car, with red leather interior it looks amazing, beautifully styled. cons - RELIABILITY, seems like it is going to go wrong all the time, only 150bhp and 0 - 60 in 9.3 seconds, slower car than it looks. Citroen C4 vts 180 - pros - looks amazing, would love to hear from people with the leather interior and panoramic sunroof, reasonable performance figures, on paper. seems like an awful lot of gadgets for the money, compared to what your getting on the others. cons - unsure about reliability and dealer service, performance, and as much as i love all those gadgets, just worried theres more to go wrong. whats the economy like? would appreciate some feedback. thanks in advance, Josh
