Thanks (I think!). Sounds a bit complex and far fetched to me. Begs the question - how many teeth are on the pulley? I'm trying to weigh up service costs wrt to buying cars at certain mileages.

What are the cambelt change intervals for the various HDi engines? Particularly interested in the Mk1 2.0.

I was surprised to find one in the local dealer's showroom. Very nice in black, ever so comfortable - like a 3 piece suite on wheels. As you say, a bit pricey new, but in 3 years time......

No I haven't, but I want one!!!!!! Have to make do with a C5 til I can afford one. What a car!

Hi there...newbie here seeking advice. I'm quite keen on buying a C5 - I think it is the car that I want, that will fulfil my needs. However, having read various posts on this forum I am a little concerned about buying a used C5 that is going to land me a big bill for having the DPF changed. So...to my question......do all diesels have the DPF? If not, which engines don't? Many thanks.
