  1. Hi, All the wipers on the C3 are bolted on. The spindle end of the wiper arm hinges up to reveal a nut; undo this and the arm just lifts off. The rear arm also has a spacer bush under the arm to keep it off the glass, make sure you don't lose it. I wouldn't go any bigger on the rear wiper as it puts more strain on the motor. The fronts are different sizes, the driver's side is much larger than the passenger side. Hope this is some help. Mal.

  3. I'd agree with raveydavey-it's Costco for me every time. Official Michelin centres nationwide at a price no-one else can beat. They'll advise on tyre rotation front/rear too and inflate with nitrogen. Most of my family and friends go there now.

    Worth asking around to see if anyone has a 'Costco' discount warehouse card. I got two Michelins fitted to the C3 two weeks ago, 165/70 R14 just under £85 all in-for two tyres! Mind you, they only do Michelin, but the price takes some beating.

I foolishly bought some 'sports' pedals on flea-bay a couple of years ago, listed as 'fits fiat seicento/cinqucento'. when they came, it was immediately obvious that they wouldn't-they were huge!! These things would have graced a truck! Ended up giving them to a mate of mine who fitted them to a Mitsubishi Shogun! Don't believe everything you read, these guys are in it to make money, plain and simple. When you see 'fits Citroen etc' if it's not a genuine citroen accessory, be wary.

  7. 2002 '52reg 1.4 HDi SX (70bhp) in rainforest green with grey interior. Bought it 11 months ago from one elderly owner with full stamped-up dealer service history and apart from a service last year and two new tyres yesterday, I've had to replace 1, yes one headlamp bulb! One of the nicest cars I've ever owned, (in 41 years of motoring), and a pleasure to drive. Mine for many more years I hope.
  8. According to Haynes, it's in a housing on the front of the cylinder block. It also says you need to remove the air cleaner air intake ducts as necessary to gain access. Looks as though you work from above. Using a socket or spanner, unscrew the filter housingcover and remove the cover and filter element. Replace the filter and 'o' ring and replace the lot. Hope this helps. I'd recommend getting a manual, I got mine 2nd hand off Flea-bay; it's a godsend!
  9. Hi, good news and bad news... The instrument panel lights are integral LEDs and can't be replaced. You'd need to fit a brand-new panel with pink LEDs, (if such a thing exists!) Same goes for the lights on all switches. You could fit pink bulbs to your interior light in the roof, which would give a 'rosy glow' when you open the door. The lens just unclips with the aid of a small screwdriver apparently, (I haven't tried it), and the bulbs just pull out. Depends if you can get the bulbs in pink tho'. Good luck. (we like 'girly girls!)
  10. 1. With the ignition switched off, press and hold the trip meter button. 2. Turn on the ignition switch, and the display begins a countdown.When the countdown reaches 0, release the trip meter button, and the spanner service symbol in the display will disappear. 3. Turn off the ignition switch. 4. Turn on the ignition and check the correct mileage to the next service interval is displayed.
  11. Under the passenger side dashboard/glovebox, roughly in the centre, a red lever. pull it towards you and 'voila!'

I won't mention the name, as I don't want to get anyone into trouble, but the service manager at our local Citroen dealership told me that the genuine Citroen pads do tend to squeal and they get sick and tired of customers bringing cars back to complain. It's something to do with the compound Citroen use. They actually give customers the option of having 'other make' pads fitted to cure the problem. I don't suppose for a moment that this is an 'official' fix, but as he says it cures the problem and the customer goes away happy. Happy customers buy more cars.
  13. Haynes manual checked and no mention of a fuel filter at all on the petrol version. Diesel has one. Can anyone confirm?
  14. You'll struggle to find an '04 anywhere for under £4k. A quick look on Autotrader shows 03 and 53 for just under, (£3995 ish). Find the right car, well looked after and a year doesn't make a huge difference.
  15. The horn fuse is in the underbonnet fuse box. It is shown as fuse F13 15amp and is listed in the handbook as 'warning' and not 'horn' which is probably what is confusing you. Hope this sorts it.

    It does come in handy occasionally- Shopping last week with the missus, arrive back at the car with 5 heavy bags of groceries, one large tray of eggs and a bouquet of flowers. Eggs and flowers in first, close moduboard floor, pile 5 bags in on top and drive home secure in the knowledge that nothing's going to fall onto the eggs and the flowers will arrive uncrushed. Have to admit I've only used it two or three times, mind you, but it does work.

  19. They won't do much to the present model other than tweaks to keep sales going. There's to be a new C3 launched later this year on the continent, coming to the UK early next year.   20. Price sounds about right. I paid £4.8 for mine July last year, a '52 with just over 40k on the clock. Probably around £4k would get you similar now. Shop around, Autotrader is excellent, that's where I found mine. Good luck. Let us know how you get on.
  21. Ok, I'm biased, but yes. The MPG figures are amazing, coupled with a low insurance group and just £35 a year tax, (ultra-low emission engine).70 BHP doesn't sound a lot, but with the torque of the diesel motor, it feels like so much more. It'll pull away from most petrol cars uphill and cruise all day long at (slightly) illegal speeds. As with any diesel motor, you get the diesel 'clatter' from cold, but once moving and warmed up you'd swear it's as quiet as a petrol. This is the first diesel car I've ever owned in 40 years of motoring. Would I buy another one? Yes. Would I go back to petrol? You know, I really don't think I would.. :D

    Got one on my 52 SX, very much as photo. Seems they're not restricted to the exclusive, I've not heard that one before. (Edit)-Just checked Citroen's Website. Moduboard is fitted as standard on Exclusive models and 'extra parts may be needed to fit to other models'. Mine was on the car when I bought it s/hand so may have been ordered from new or fitted by the first owner as an accessory.

  25. Ok, the fuse box is between the battery and the front n/s wing. (Actually tucked partially under the wing). Remove the battery cover(s). These simply pull off upwards, front section first, then rear. This makes access easier. The fuse box cover has a small clip on the side next to the battery. Pull this towards the battery and lift the box cover away. You can then see the fuses. Not easy access, but possible with care. According to Haynes manual, fuse 14 is a 10amp red. If that doesn't do the trick, they also mention fuse 17, a 30 amp green as also being wash/wipe. Hope this helps. Mal.
