Chances are this hardness is due to the cooling system pressurising
-
Due to my garage height I need a bee-sting aerial, is there a difference in them performancewise, the one I have fitted doesn't seem to give clarity to the radio, thought they were all alike but didn't have this on the previous car, without going daft on price can you recommend any particular make ?

Watchdog Questions Citroen About C4 Suspension Issue
john h replied to keeny1975's topic in C4 - General
They could run an entire series on Citroen faults found by owners but ignored by Citroen -
Topped up the tank of my 1.6hdi c4 pic yesterday £49 [36.89ltrs] for 520 miles mixed driving but mainly local, call it 9 gallon = 57.7 mpg, I'm happy
-
Try holding the max on the motorway at 65, it does make a difference to the consumption on my manual box, unsure regarding the automatic though
-
Or a very good Xsara Picasso with more room than the c3 [had both, now on a c4 pic]

Citroen C3 Picasso 2009 - Spare Wheel

Too many gadgets, much prefer the return of a water temperature gauge instead of a message telling you in 10 seconds your engine will explode -
Your budget needs to be doubled unless you get lucky

Citroen C3 Picasso 2009 - Spare Wheel
john h replied to jimbob950's topic in New Member Introduction
So basically go for an alloy that matches what you have already, also an advantage if you are one that believes in rotating the wheels to even out wear. This is something I neglected to do on my Xsara Picasso, the spare sat unused in its cradle for 10 years, when I eventually took it out to inspect it all the walls had cracked, despite the tread being as brand new the tyre was scrap. -
Citroen C3 Picasso 2009 - Spare Wheel

Isn't there some issue regarding wheel nuts when using anything other than an alloy ? something to do with the taper seating ? -
Citroen C3 Picasso 2009 - Spare Wheel
john h replied to jimbob950's topic in New Member Introduction
Yes they do fit, bought mine off ebay, when it was delivered it was brand new, unused without tyre, I got a tyre fitted locally and after stripping everything , baring the bottom bracket, out of the wheelwell it fitted snugly face down, wrapped all the tools in cloth and put them in the wheel dish, floor panel sits directly onto the wheel which now supports it in place of the polystyrene packing. The wheel was such a snug fit found it did not require any method of anchoring in place Put my Spacesaver on ebay and it was snapped up immediately by a less fortunate Picasso owner who only had a tin of useless gunk for emergencies. -
Citroen C3 Picasso 2009 - Spare Wheel

Go to the salvage yard and get a full size [blade ?] alloy they do fit in the wheelwell with all the packing removed and ensure if it has to be used you will not be restricted to speed or miles as you would with a spacesaver -
Very enlightening, definitely giving them a miss, if you are desperate for blue tinged light there are plenty halogens from big name companies which 'allegedly' increase the beam range, something I did not find when I tried a set from Ring

Only paid £60 for my first car never mind £700 for a seat
-
What is the issue with the drivers seat, is it the foam disintegrating or something with the frame, I see there are many tales of woe with the c4 seats, is anybody doing a replacement cushion ?
-
Any info on stripping the drivers seat cushion to give attention to the padding on the bolsters, the sponge feels like it has fallen inside the framework

Cars in general have become much too technical, even main dealers and mechanics cant keep up, at the end of the day whatever the fault its going to be expensive for the owner.

Handbrake Was Not Working- Rear Brake Callipers Seized!
john h replied to elpibedel8's topic in C4 - Technical
Thanks for that info, wonder how many have wished for a mod to hook a normal lever to the cable and kick the electrics into touch -
Wife would never forgive me if I did that, only just managed to offload the c3 Picasso, still got 2 month of warranty left and googling the companys email feedback reveals they are in regular touch with a firm supplying turbo parts so hope if its turbo related they will do the right thing
-
Also explains why its a low mileage car,
-
Getting warnings on the dash display; antipollution fault, low engine oil pressure, handbrake fault all accompanied by temporary loss of power, just had a fuel rail sensor diagnosed and rectified but its the long term reliability that has me worried, moreso when my 3 month warranty runs out, apart from that its a great car [2008 c4 picasso 5 seater] trouble is I'm its 5th owner, wonder if these faults have been the reason for that.

Does the rear switch receive its power from the drivers switch assembly ? and are there wiring sockets where the 'bellows' are on the doors ?
-
My point being how do you raise the window with no battery connected, Open the driver's window. Switch off the ignition and remove the ignition key from the car. Wait 3 minutes before touching the battery to give the various electronics time to shutdown and save settings. Remove the cover over the battery - if there is one.. Remove the bolt holding the battery clip Remove the battery negative terminal. Remove the battery positive terminal. Remove the battery from the car. Had a similar conundrum removing a Scenic battery for recharging, no keyholes in doors, car left unlocked all night, no other option available
-
'Open drivers window............disconnect battery' for this you either need a garage or zero crime rate area

I have never touched the bleed nipples for a pad change, just force the pistons back and change the pads, no disturbance of the hydraulics
