ive got a feeling they may be coded to the car, and the head unit from a C4 picasso will be like rocking horse Sh*t to get hold of. but a service department maybe able to recode one at a cost.

How Long Do You Wait Till You Start Pestering The Dealers?
ham's c4vts replied to xavtia's topic in C4 - Technical
I've had good service from my local dealer, if a part needs ordering then it can be next day, but normally a week if in stock. -
I sat in the new C4 picasso last week and the head unit is the same as the standard unit on our C4 exccept for the mp3 badge on it

towards the end of last year i got a puncture in the right front, i took it to a local small garage. the removed tyre, repaired puncture and re balanced tyre, ive had no problems since. Just a thought, i wonder how many tyre places have their balance machines calibrated or out of calibration?

Diesels have improved alot due to being turboed now which really boosts torque, but run out of puff at top end compared to petrol. if youve ever watched World super bikes on bbc or euro sports, torque really helps when Ducati 999 vee twins race against 4 cylinder 1000c suzuki's, yamahas and hondas on tight tracks with low speed corners. you actuall see them "leap" away for the 4 cylinder bikes out of the corners because the twins produce more torque. ok not they arnt diesels, but demonstraights torque in action. and in the reall world 0 to 60 time isnt a real true reflection on performance, like C4Vts has said,30 to 50, 50 to 70 in gear acceleration is what to look for.

TBH mine gets dusty too, not used anything on dash only on doorcards and other trim and thats Megs trim detailer, but its too glossy for dash.

No i dont think your a to**er at all, and i dont claim to know every thing, im only here to help give and also receive information from this forum. But it does feel like "i know more that you game" at times on here, like the tyre wear post, you had to put me right as i didnt put "if looked after properly" at the end of my post why? :) . Obviously they will if looked after, the person only asked about tyre wear not to go on with a rant about other road users tyre conditions. And what meant cut some slack?, im not the one picking fault with what people have put and quoting what they say all of the time its not constructive to the forum, i do like reading yours and others posts! :D Can we all get back to helpful, usefull posting? :) :)
-
What i'm getting at is that every time ive posted recently, You've had to try to put me right or as i feel you've had a dig for what ive said even though ive not slagged anyone off or made bad comments. :) As for saying that im not being green because i change my oil every 4000 miles, well surpose we shouldnt be driving our cars then, as thats not exactly green is it ? i go on a few car and other forums and never come across bickering on those. it doesnt look good to new people who join the forum. ive was slaggedoff a while ago in a post,i was told i had done a calculation wrong, but it turned out to be correct but i never got an appology for their mistake!
-
Surely you can take it to your local tip? Our tip had an oil bank where you dispose of the used oil. "Nor very green?" whats that all about, is it another dig at me? nit picking because ive either missplelt something or missed a word out? i thought this was a decent forum for help and advice, not school yard slanging. Have i offened you?

Its only got one on thr rear, the other is either not wired up or no bulb. i dont know why they dont put two rear fogs on it?
-
I would of thought its the other way around Stu, youll have to work the 1.4 harder than the 2.0 to get it up to legal road speeds, meaning the 2.0 does it easier  . Well Stu if your not planning on keeping it then dont bother to change oil and filter, just wait till service intervals, im still changing mine every 4000 miles , just 12500 for mine or 20000 for yours in 2 years is a long time for oil imo, not so bad if its up and down to motorway all day like Z3M, but when your car is used mostly on short runs.
-
Stu i think C4VTS is right with that, full length glass roof is around £500 option. One owner on here has it on their VTS. And Welcome to the forum baggies!

He's not too happy though, because when he went to look at it and collect it there was another FR in the showroom with a body kit on and he didnt know he could or ordered it for his. Whats the latest on your?
-
There you go like i've said, those people dont give a toss until something happens, then of course its not their fault! I wonder how many people on here that have tyre pressure sensors on their car, but never check tyre pressures, or watch the oil display say ok, but never actually check the oil level? Is that down to stupidity, nievity, negligence, laziness or dont understand or care then? I hope that nobody on this forum is like that, reading some of the discussions i dont think they are.
-
i meant Obviously to my post, "Rears last almost forever", Obviously they do if you keep them at correct pressure. that sort of person your on about, is the type to most likley not have an mot, insurance, road tax and couldnt care a toss.
