Hi , the exhaust rear box on my c3 dropped to the ground , i was able to push the support rod back onto rubber support i had a look at the rear box & where the main pipe from the front joins the rear box there is slight damage at the round point because it dropped can i repair this myself with exhaust paste , or can it be welded ,exhaust isn't blowing

  5. Hi, i'm going to be replacing the anti roll bar bushes on my citroen c3 14 LX year ,2004 i have been able to turn the bolts so should be easy enough, but i need to know a couple of things ,first is there only one bolt holding each bush on ( i can only see one) second do i have to disconnect the end of the arm to slide the split bush into position
  6. Thanks paul I'll check at doors .if I can't find a suitable earth point nearer the fuses
  7. thanks paul , the RTA manual was correct , but the fuse board still wouldn't pivot i looked under the board & seen a block(bottom left) that was stopping it from pivoting, so i pushed left side which released the block & i was able to lower the fuses i am thinking about hard wiring a dash cam , any idea where i will find a good earth connection on the c3 to connect the earth wire
  8. Hi, can someone please tell me how i get access to interior fuses , i opened glove compartment & took of fuse cover there is a white plastic piece bottom right that i can turn to either 9 o,clock or 12 o,clock should the fuse section pull down for access ,can't seem to budge it when i try in both positions
  9. thanks paul , the eezibleeder has had good reviews that's why i thought it would be easy to use , your reply got me a bit worried so i phoned a local garage for a quote £25 + £10 for fluid total £35 for me it's a no brainer iv'e booked it in , thanks anyway
  10. someone on this forum must have used this bleeder on a c3
  11. thanks john , iv'e seen on the reviews that some cars were not suitable ,unless they bought the master cylinder cap adapter so want to make sure it fits mine without going to extra expense ,
  12. Hi, anyone know if any of the caps on the gunson eezibleeder will fit my 2004 citroen c3 14 LX
  13. i don't think i can use a splitter on this joint ,it hasn't a screw at the top ,it sits on a bracket with 3 bolts
  14. Hi, my citroen c3 2004 14 lx 1360cc , failed mot for ball joint , in my haynes book it looks quite straight forward , but could someone please tell me after i remove the bolt from the hub carrier , how hard is it to get the ball joint to come out ,book advise metal bar & chain , is this necessary & what problems can i expect when putting in the new one thanks in advance
  15. i'm not as confident now about doing head gasket because of the chance of disturbing wet liners , i could end up with a bigger problem than the oil leak , i will have to think hard about this , anyway paul thanks for all your help
  16. only thing i'm not sure about is disturbing the wet liners , from what i have read if i lock the crankshaft with locking pin do the head & not move the crankshaft the liners won't get disturbed , is that right
  17. also as the torque setting is 15 lb ft which seems quite low,can you advise me on a suitable torque wrench cheers
  18. hi moderator, year 2004 petrol 1360cc 51,000 miles variant FCKFV*version FCKFVBhad a look at the top of timing belt it looks in great condition if i do decide to have a go , is it possible to put extra sealer around the oil seal part of the head gasket that keeps leaking or is this a big no nothanks again
  19. hi, i have a oil leak from cylinder head & i believe it to be a design fault with this car , but as it is making a bit of a mess in my driveway ,i'm considering replacing the head gasket i bought a haynes manual because i want to make sure i understand all the procedures should i replace or renew head bolts . head bolt torque book says 15 lb angle 240 .when i double check this on internet i'm getting 44lb 95 degrees so not confident with book settings , maybe these are equivalent to book settings also what are wet liners & bottom seals when head is off ,haynes say if care is not taken the wet liners could be moved possibility of bottom seals being disturbed hope someone can clear these issues up thanks in advance
  20. so as i am only wanting access to remove the inlet manifold , can i simply pull fuel rail with injectors attached put aside to change manifold , then put rail / injectors back without bothering about the seals does this seem okay
  21. (New injector seals should be fitted and a bit of engine oil on them helps to refit to the engine.) just curious does the injectors come away with the rail when you lift it out, are the seals stuck in the bottom of the injector hole ,does that give you a problem getting them out what purpose does the engine oil have, think i could tackle this job ,but need to understand the injector side of things
  22. thanks for the quick reply , .decided to have a go before seeing your post , loosened everything connected to inlet manifold when it was loose realized i could not just pull it off , i don't know if its the injectors that are in the way , have decided to give it to a mechanic looks too big a job for me by the way the reason i want to replace the inlet manifold , the plastic bit that is part of the manifold that the servo connects to is damaged a mechanic has glued the damaged bit it on , but i'm not happy about driving a car that has that type of repair ,i think it is dangerous
  23. i loosened the bolt on what i believe to be the map sensor it only seems to be on with 1 bolt , but there still seems to be something stopping it from coming off anyone know how to slip this off
  24. hi, i want to replace the inlet manifold on my C3 14 LX. 2004 does anyone know what is involved step by step of what has to be dismantled how many bolts /screws looking at it it doesn't look difficult , any help appreciated , thanks in advance
