Hi All, I have a crack in the rear O/S upper reflector glass, I have received a second hand one to change with but not to shore on how to get the old one off. The car is a 2001 estate. I have the replacement in front of me, it has 2 metal bits looks like locating pins at each end, no screws or bolts. Is it a push fit and to take the old one off would I prise it out with a flat screwdriver ? It houses the stop and tail light bulb.

I must admit to not reading my handbook but we was driving back from Wiltshire, the sun was shining and it was very humid, we had the front windows down to let in air, mainly for our little dog on the rear seat. Just a couple of miles outside Ludgershall black clouds and then rain, Reg was driving and he put on the wipers and fumbled for the window switches but then up went the windows. He said did you see that, the windows closed automatically, was we imagine this? The rain stopped as quick as it started and we entered the A303 with windows down but the sky was black, yes the heavens opened and up went the windows. Is there no end to the tricks this car has....

Thanks for all the good advise, my husband Reg will be tackling this operation but not for a week or two. He has limited use of his left hand after an operation but is keen to have a go. Thanks again Pat

I am thinking of doing a oil change before the winter sets in, but what will be the best oil to use? My car is a 2001 2000cc diesel automatic estate. PS. I have never done a oil change so any tips.
-
I will have to do some heavy breathing to steam up the windows then will try out the rear de-mister.
-
Removed all stickers, it was tricky, my hubby peeled them both off.
-
Thanks for the tips, will leave the rear window sticker as it is for save the life boats or destroy the de-mister. Just a note, I tried S for sport mode to day, just the job for overtaking, the kick down is a bit sluggish. We have it down to a fine art now, my hubby presses S when I tell him to, I'll make a driver out of him yet, only joking.

Thanks for all advise, and I have a 2000cc, WOW that sounds better.

I have 2 window stickers one on the rear side window and one on the rear heated inside of the window, I am going to put a hair drier on them to soften them up, I did this with my old car. What I would like to know is, the sticker on the rear window is on top of the de-mister, do you think this will harm the de-mister? Or leave well alone, one is save your life boat the other is a seaside town but both look like they have seen better days.

Can you tell me if my old C5 has a low fuel warning light or buzzer, can not find anything in the hand book. My car is a 2001 C5 estate diesel 110 bhp 1900cc, and I love it. PS. do you name your cars and if so what? My husband and I call our Citroen 'Candy'.

We have just driven back from Devon about 150+ miles and we had the car in auto mode but found when we overtake it was not to quick at increasing speed. Would I be right in saying when overtaking press 'S' for sport mode then pressing again for cruising. We have never tried sports mode or the manual gear change.

Hi all, I am thinking of buying a caravan next year but have my doubts on my car being up to it, why, I had a 5 berth van and towed it with a 1800 petrol Audea, this was a automatic and I done the gearbox in after a couple of trips. The C5 is a diesel 1900 automatic 2001, has always been serviced. Would this be man another to tow?

Thanks for all advise, it is mainly when I park outside my house but what I find works is I drive if possible just past my house and then look in the mirror I can see the curb and reverse back. I park on the right hand side of the road, this being a service road in a small square of 7 houses.
-
I seem to have trouble parking the car near the curb, I have to look in my wing mirror and reverse as I can not see the curb in front, any idea how I can improve this.
-
Now am I imagining that when you first get in the car the seat go's up and if it dose how dose it go to the height for me, can you adjust it?
-
I'm just a bit concerned if I loose my key, would the AA be able to get into my car if this happened? I do have the card with the code.
-
Now please forgive me as I am shore I read on here about the door keys. My question is I will be getting a second key cut at Sainsburys tomorrow, am I right in saying I can use this key to open the doors and start and drive the car. My original key with buttons is mine but my hubbie is key less.
-
My wife phoned me and said the car wont start, just dead, I told her to phone the AA and let me know how she got on. Half hour later she phoned, giggling that the AA man got in the car and after a sort time started the car, she asked the man what was wrong and he said, you need to put it in park to start it, it was in drive. I better ad this is my old car a PerOdue. Reg her husband...

Can anyone help, 2001 2lt auto estate 110 C5. In the engine on the far left is a round black filler cap with the letters F and O, under this is a picture of a open book with 2 arrows pointing to the letters. At a guess it may be rad water filler or is it the power stirring? In the centre there is a ! mark as well. I have tried putting a picture on from photo bucket but failed. Pat

My husband thinks it is ok, he said I am to gentle in putting my food down on the accelerator. On the dashboard just under and to the right of the radio there is a button with a picture of a pad lock, what dose that do?
-
C5 2001 auto estate 2lt. I have given the car a good run and if I remember rightly, on automatics there is a kick down so I am traveling at 50 mph and I floor the accelerator, after about 3 to 5 seconds it decides to drop a gear but dose seem a bit on the sluggish side. As I am getting on in years I'm not to worried but would like to know if this would be right for an old girl, the car that is. Pat
-
Or some times called the 5th door, it is the one on the rear, only a small question, is there any way I can adjust the tail gate so it dose not drop on my head? It has only done it once but just thinking it may need a bit of fine tuning, or I wear a hat.
-
Thanks all, seems strait forward, just need it to stop raining as my garage leaks. Pat

I have a 2001 diesel estate 2000 cc 110, I dipped the oil and it looks black but reading on the full mark, I was thinking it may pay me to change the oil, I have done oil changes on Fords but a very long time ago. What would be helpful is what is the best oil to use and is it still, just undo the engine drain plug on the sump, drain old oil, put in new. Pat

It worked, well pleased only took a couple of min's, I stink of white spirit now, but the car looks like new. Thanks for the help...
