coastline taxis Posted March 29, 2011 Posted March 29, 2011 got a fiat scudo(same as a cit dispatch/pug expert) in the other day no power and management light on. anyway to cut a long story short i just couldnt get me head round why it wasnt right so we took it to town center citroen. And as usual fault was found at a very very resonable price. Its the injectors so now this is where the people of this site come in. Weve managed to get 3 out but the forth wont budge its a very comon fault with these and weve tried various way but it just wont come out and is begining to look like well end up having to buy another head/engine as well have to damage stuff to get it out UNLESS any body on here knows of any chemical that will break the bond or eat away at the carbon that is holding it in Quote
paul.h Posted March 29, 2011 Posted March 29, 2011 Coastline, there was something similar earlier this year on the C8 probs/fixes pages. glynnpt had a stuck injector (as well as head gasket failure which was the start of the work) and this is a copy of one of the posts and who sorted it. It started December 2010, last post Feb 2011. Found by a search on all forums using 'injector' but the full posting is still on the first page of the C8 Problems and Fixes. The link gives a phone no. so they may help with advice.------------------------------- update.went to this place:-http://www.ptsdevelopments.com/ in Woking. They are Citroen specialists. The owner is, I suppose, a Citroen fanatic. He just completed a similar job, as a result of the broken cam belt problem, which included having to mill out an injector and replace it. I think it also included some stuff with valves and other sundries. Cost was between £2000 and £3000. The Owner Pete Sparrow talks you through every thing that has to be done, giving rough ideas of prices and you get to be able to make an informed assessment about whether it is the route you want to take. You can visit the workshop whenever you like and you can see the state of your engine. He often stays late into the evening, so you can go after work. He will take photos and email them to you. I was lucky, all the injectors came out. He has a contact with hydraulics, exerting some amazing force on them. I can see why they are a problem. I can send pics if anyone is interested. The saga will continue. Quote

Mind you i have spilt some coke on my garage floor and it leaves a very clean patch afterwards, It must be the acid in it that does the job try it you have nothing to lose and let us know if it frees it up. coastline taxis Posted March 30, 2011 Author Posted March 30, 2011 Got some advice of nigel at tcc and replaced the other 3 injectors and left the stuck 1 unbolted but left the feed pipe on so injector was firing. Packed the area with loads of foam fired engine up and reved the backside of it and it still wouldnt budge. Still at full revs we then tried to lever it out with a 4ft crowbar and it still wouldnt budge. Deciding that the injector wasnt going to come out in one piece we unscrewed the top off the injector and welded a hook to the nut then screwed it back on to the injector the put the arm of the engine hoist onto it and lifted the arm up. still wouldnt budge so fired engine up again got a long bar and placed it flat against the injector with the hoist lifting the engine up via the injector (its a 4 ton hoist) and engine running flat out the bar was belted with a sledge hammer and after all that its still stuck. Weve had stuck ones in the past but never anything like this. so next step is engine out to see if we can get a 10 ton puller on it Quote
paul.h Posted March 30, 2011 Posted March 30, 2011 Our only moderator is iannez, we could do with more but how is this done and what are the responsibilities. At one point he was deleting a lot of the spam almost full time but one of his posts referred to a new house which was taking a lot of his time (as well as work). Quote
coastline taxis Posted March 31, 2011 Author Posted March 31, 2011 Would be interesting to no who is who and what is what on the site, and maybe a small charge so that spyware/adware/antivirus etc etc could be bought also the cost covered as someone somewhere must be paying something Quote

paul.h Posted April 25, 2011 Posted April 25, 2011 Coastline, did you get the injector out in the end ? Seen somebody advertising on the C8 pages, APdiagnostics who claim a 98% success rate using a 20 tonne puller. Quote
