Guest surf Posted May 3, 2011 Posted May 3, 2011 Hi all, I would like to turn off the "automatic locking" feature - is it possible? I managed to lock the car keys in the car with the car running the other day, and would not like to repeat the experience lol Thanks in advance. Quote
paul.h Posted May 3, 2011 Posted May 3, 2011 I am aware of 2 automatic locking features so not sure which you are asking about and then how you have started the engine and managed to lock yourself out: 1. Once above about 6 mph the doors will automatically lock - to stop this or start it, just hold in the dash lock button until there is a beep. The engine may need to be running for this. 2. If the doors are unlocked with the key fob, they will relock if a door is not opened in 30 seconds. I do not know if this one can be disabled. Quote
kfk Posted May 14, 2011 Posted May 14, 2011 the vehicle will only relock itself if the main computer (BSI) doesnt see that the doors have opened. It does this by monitoring the door opening......so......you open door, car assumes you have got in or may have left keys.handbag on seat. To test, unlock car on remote key and wait 30 seconds.......it should relock itself, Do the same thing but open and close one door, it should remain unlocked Try all doors making sure you have locked between each sequence sometimes rear doors arnt linked to the computer so the car doesnt know whether they are open or closed.
