berto Posted May 18, 2011 Posted May 18, 2011 Hello everyone,i am new to this forum and already have found loads of very useful information and tips.I thought i would just put up a quick post as i am so chuffed with my lastest purchase, its a 53 plate c5 2.0 hdi exclusive. The reason i am so pleased with it is that i paid just £300,the previous owner had been offered this amount as a trade in against a new car,so he offered it to me for that price. The car has a staggering 370000 miles on the clock, but you would never guess, all the mileage had been motorway miles,he drives ships crew from Tilbury to other docks.I just got back from MOT and it passed without even an advisory. At the moment it has none of the fault messages, that seem to affect these cars, but thanks to this site i am forwarned.Anyway enough bragging :D :D Quote
Johndouglas Posted May 18, 2011 Posted May 18, 2011 Welcome to the forum. Wow that's some mileage - but not unusual it seems on C5s. Quote
kfk Posted May 18, 2011 Posted May 18, 2011 Had a customer that used to do private hire from Kent to Yorkshire and his mileage was always up around the 300,000 when he sold them, and still running like new. I remember one ocassion though when he came to me for a clutch to be fitted at 180,000 miles.....he was most pissed off that that it had failed and wasnt prepared to accept that this was a good mileage as most fail by 80,000. As he wasnt satisfied so I asked him what he expected out of it.......... 'Well i got 280,000 out of my last one!'..... cant realy answer that can you! Quote
