Hi, Am still getting to grips with my new 2.0 HDi VTR+ and have to say the AC is a bit of a lte down. I'm used to icy cold air when on a Lo setting but on my C5 it's just a little cold! I set it to Auto on Lo setting but I can't get it very cold. Can someone advise what the best setting is for fans, type of air cirulation and the like.

It may need topping up on the gas , you need to visit an a/c repairer/re gaser and have the system checked out .

Thanks, with it being under warranty I'll get the garage to check it... or should I get one of those places to check it out first for free???

Not that I don't trust them of course ;-)It's coldish, just not icy cold as I'd expect.

the auto setting sets all the parameters inc. fan speed and distribution so you don't need to change anything; (except here in Sri Lanka I switch it to recycled air as fresh air is too warm)

fan speed will start high(er) and reduce as the desired temp is arrived at.

if it's not cooling enough it could be the gas (most likely), or some other issue with the ac system (possibly pollen filter may need replacement)

Is this car new or new to you ?

If brand new, take it back and ask to compare with another new C5

New to me, 58 plate. I set it to Auto and low and it basically pumps slightly warm air around the car. Driving with the window down is cooler!

The air con should cool the outside air by about 10°C (any less and it is probably short of refrigerant gas). If you have a thermometer, hold it in front of the central air vents, turn auto off, put the blower on full with flow to these vents and the air con on lowest temp setting and see what you get. You should also hear the air con compressor clutch clicking in/out so you know it is working.

As a 58 reg it should still be under the Citroen 3 year warranty so only take it back to Citroen or risk losing the warranty if somebody else touches it first.
