TheGoose Posted December 18, 2015 Author Posted December 18, 2015 I'm thinking of buying a new swirl diaphragm, as from what I can see of my pipes they all "seem" ok. The car has a pattern, if I drive normally it tends to be ok, but whenever I put my foot down harder the error will pop up and often limp mode. Sometimes constant, or sometimes for a few seconds and then it will disappear, although the error stays until a few cycles of the ignition. Could the Mass Airflow Sensor also cause problems like this? Or if that had failed would it more likely be a constant error/limp mode situation? Quote
paul.h Posted December 18, 2015 Posted December 18, 2015 When the car is started the diaphragm rod should move so something to check before replacing it. The following is from Citroen's procedure for checking the turbo pressure including fitting a pressure gauge to check the pressure sensor value so you could see what pressures you are getting against expected:Start the engine.Engage the 1st gear ratio, and start the vehicle.Engage the gears up to 3rd gear.Decelerate to an engine speed of 1500 rpm.Gradually accelerate , The pressure should be the following :1,1 ± 0,05 bars at 2000 rpm1,2 ± 0,05 bars at 3000 rpm Quote
