jefflad Posted January 31, 2012 Posted January 31, 2012 Hi, 58 reg Tourer, my back light has what looks like condensation on the inside of the lense. The lense itself looks solid and no obvious entry points. How easy is it to remove and either repair or replace? This is the section of the lense that goes down the side of the car not the one attached to tailgate. TIA Quote
qman3428 Posted February 2, 2012 Posted February 2, 2012 I had this on a C3, I removed the bulb and used a hair dryer on the outside of the lense to dry the condensation off, it can then escape through the hole where the bulb goes. Dont get any one part of the lense too hot and keep the hair dryer moving. Quote
paul.h Posted February 2, 2012 Posted February 2, 2012 On the service.citroen website you can read and print sections (a mouse right click works) of the car handbook without having to log in or register, the following is taken from the handbook:To remove a bulb on the tourer wing mounted lights you need to remove the boot side panel from inside the boot by pulling to the inside of the boot and then pulling up. Then from inside the boot, disconnect the electrical connector from the back of the lamp and then undo the fixing nut below the connector (it says to use the wheel brace but I would not do it up too tight since the plastic may break). The lamp should now be loose to remove and the bulb holder can be removed - check its seal is ok and try the hair dryer to dry the lamp out. Obviously have a look for any cracks or poor joints around the different plastic bits that make up the lamp. Quote
jefflad Posted March 1, 2012 Author Posted March 1, 2012 Thanks for all the replies. Finally got round to doing it last night, the hairdryer worked but couldn't see any obvious holes as the unit as a whole is sealed apart from where the bulbs are housed. Anyway I'll see how it goes but maybe if it happens again look at replacing it. Jeff Quote
DaveHerns Posted March 4, 2012 Posted March 4, 2012 Are we talkinfg about new shape C5's here ?You could try some silicone grease (not sealant) around the bulbholders as that must be where the water gets in Quote
