Guest alan44 Posted September 10, 2012 Posted September 10, 2012 Hello I am new to this part of the site I own a picasso but have recently bought a 2006 manual 1.6hdi c-5 for my wife. As I am disabled my question is , is there any problem leaving the suspension in the raised position for prolonged periods. I need height to get in and out of the car, so if it was raised to get out of the car and left like this say over night would this do the car any harm.Returning to normal position for driving. I am currently looking to change the Picasso and looking at a C-5 2.0 hdi 2007 auto.. Thanks Alan. Quote
coastline taxis Posted September 14, 2012 Posted September 14, 2012 no harm at all as the ecu will just lower it after 5 minswhen its shutting down. then when you wake the ecu up it will just pump the car up. just dont drive over the recomended speed with the suspension on full as it will cause damage Quote

paul.h Posted September 14, 2012 Posted September 14, 2012 I often have our car on the highest setting when doing work on it and it can be like this all day without any problems - in this position it has not lowered itself after a few minutes when the ecu has shut down. Often is several times a year, the C5 is one of the most reliable cars around, just need to grease the rear brake caliper to axle arm joint every couple of years outside of usual oil/filter changes. Something to remember, if you need to jack the car up to change a wheel, the handbook says to raise the suspension to max height first before using the jack - there have been reports here of suspension problems when this has not been done.
