citrophile Posted February 16, 2013 Posted February 16, 2013 Hi AllJust read in my owners manual that C5 boot can be opend with the key remote. How do i do this - the manual doesn't tell me.It's happened once or twice previously by accident and I just thought it was a glitch in the remote but seems not.ThanksRob Quote
paul.h Posted February 16, 2013 Posted February 16, 2013 (edited) Our C5 manual is dated 10/2006 on the back cover and I could not find anything on this so maybe it is only on earlier cars. The key for our C4 has a button for opening the boot. Edited February 16, 2013 by paul.h Quote
DaveHerns Posted February 17, 2013 Posted February 17, 2013 I don't think the pre 2008 C5 has the facility to open the boot by the remote control Quote
citrophile Posted February 20, 2013 Author Posted February 20, 2013 Thanks Dave....Guess it was just a glitch then when it opened on its own! Just a further thought......would it be possible to wire up the boot lock to a switch to release it from inside the car? Thanks Rob Quote
paul.h Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 The Haynes wiring diagram shows the boot switch simply earths a wire from the BSI. If you follow this wire back into the car (probably down the left sill under the plastic cover and up into the cabin fuse box) you could use a blue scotchlock to connect a switch to it and the other side of the switch to an earth point. On the accidental opening of the boot - if the boot switch contacts are dirty/sticking/damp, then maybe it has opened itself. Quote
