Tinted Windows - Insurance

Hi all,

I am new to this forum as I have just ordered my first Citroen. I ordered a 2013 Citroen C1 VTR and it is due for delivery tomorrow. I decided to ask that the manufacturer fit rear and rear side tinted windows. Now, my question is, do I have to declare this as a modification to my insurance company - or as it is fitted by the manufacturer would this count as a standard feature?

Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the forum. I would let the insurance company know if it is not standard on that model and they always seem to ask if there are any changes to standard. Then, if it increased the value that is gained in the event of a claim but more importantly, if you did not tell them and there was a claim they could refuse to pay out. It is not likely to increase the premium so better to be safe than sorry.

Agree

Always speak to the insurance company and make them aware.

One what people may think is a 'little' change could refuse a claim if not declared...

Not worth the risk...

Why tinted windows ? sunglasses are cheaper and dont impair forward vision of the poor chap driving behind you
