citroeneddie Posted August 1, 2006 Posted August 1, 2006 Don't touch it, what you save initially will cost you in the long run. Quote
Johndouglas Posted August 1, 2006 Posted August 1, 2006 MY QUESTION IS WILL MY 2.0HDI RUN ON BIO DIESEL, ANYBODY USING IT ? A It depends on what you mean by biodiesel. All the diesel sold in France for the last couple of years has been 5% biodiesel. If you mean putting some veggie oil in with your usual supply then it will be a bit thicker than what your lift pump will like and it will probably burn out. Quote
tronboy Posted August 1, 2006 Posted August 1, 2006 A 2.0 HDi will run on a biodiesel mix of up to 10% with no problems. As Johndouglas says, all diesel sold in France is now 5% bio. 100% biodiesel as produced by rapeseed farmers and the little Muslim fellas in the out of town trading estates who filter it from used tandoori fat can cause the engine management to switch to 'get you home' mode because it will detect fuel contamination. This kind of biodiesel is absolutely fine for the old 1.9D, but you should change the fuel filter after the first few tank-fulls Quote
strapup Posted August 1, 2006 Author Posted August 1, 2006 thanks for your comments folks, i think i will wait abit b4 filling up my tank with bio, a guy a citroen said the warranty maybe void if i use it. Quote
