hi ive just had a c2 1.6 vtr adn have read up that you can disable the stop and start sensor so you can drive normally lol. But how ????

Hello Ruth - First, welcome to the forum.   I'll have to take your word for it that the stop&start facility can be disabled.   If it can, it's very likely that it needs to be done on a Lexia - that's the diagnostic machine used by Citroen dealers.   Some independent garages and also some forum members  have copies of the machine.

In the handbook section on the Stop & start system, it says it can be disabled each time the car is started by pushing the ECO OFF button at the top left of the radio. The button will light up. You can push the button to activate it again. Every time the engine is started, the system reverts back to stop/start until the button is pushed again.

 

If it is possible to disable it permanently, it would need to be done as advised by Johndouglas.

 

If you do not have the handbook, you can see/print sections of it on the service.citroen website, documentation de bord, select language, then choose your car.

 

Give the ECO OFF button a try and for our benefit, let us know if it works.
