techen Posted June 21, 2013 Posted June 21, 2013 What does NON FAP mean for my 2L? Diesel car? Is fap just like a DPF? And if it means I have no FAP I dont need to worry about clogged FAP filters or DPFS Quote
paul.h Posted June 21, 2013 Posted June 21, 2013 FAP and DPF are different names for an exhaust particulate filter. Not all the C4 hdi cars have this filter so avoid expensive maintenance costs at about 80k miles. So if your car is Non Fap, it will save you a lot of money. Quote
techen Posted June 21, 2013 Author Posted June 21, 2013 Thank you Paul. I went onto citroens website recall part and it called my car a Non fap. Would a elloys tank still be installed on my car then if it's a non Fap model? Quote
paul.h Posted June 21, 2013 Posted June 21, 2013 You will not have an eolys tank. On the C5 with the FAP, the fuel filler cap has a couple of magnets on the part that just goes inside the filler neck which are used to sense when it is filled up so it can add the eolys fluid - you should not have these either. If you register on the service.citroen website as an other professional, member of The Citroen Owners Club, you can see the parts diagrams and also see the Characteristics for your car (on the left hand index). This lists all the relevant details such as engine, etc against your VIN. If you want to print something I find a right mouse click is easiest. Also against your VIN you can see all the parts for your car and the exhaust filter will not show. Quote
techen Posted June 21, 2013 Author Posted June 21, 2013 I had a look at the website, Would a eolys tank be under Gas recycling unit? Or would it be under fuel and air supply. As both of them don't show any signs of a DPF or Eolys tank in parts. Quote
paul.h Posted June 21, 2013 Posted June 21, 2013 Under air and fuel supply, fuel tank - but you need to remove the Filter at the top left to see other C4s that will have the FAP and eolys additive. Quote
techen Posted June 21, 2013 Author Posted June 21, 2013 Ah I see, So yea. Mines does not have it. Great news for me! Thanks a lot of your help though Paul. Made me want to keep this car badly now, On to a winner :P Quote
