spitfire9 Posted June 28, 2013 Posted June 28, 2013 Need to change the driveshaft and don't know the size of the nut on the end. I had to saw/chisel to break the one I last did on a ZX. Many hours of no fun at all! This time with an Xsara I'd rather get a socket that fits. Many thanks in advance if anyone knows. Quote
Johndouglas Posted June 28, 2013 Posted June 28, 2013 You'll need a 36mm socket and lots and lots of leverage. Quote
spitfire9 Posted June 28, 2013 Author Posted June 28, 2013 JohnDouglas, thanks for your help! I'll start looking for one. Quote
paul.h Posted June 28, 2013 Posted June 28, 2013 There appear to be 2 different internal diameters of the drive shaft nut with different torque settings so you need to check this in a workshop manual:M24 x 150 : 320 NmM20 x 150 : 250 NmThese values are beyond any normal torque wrench so you may need to buy/borrow one or even go to a garage with one.
