les-cumbria Posted August 14, 2013 Posted August 14, 2013 Have bought a C5 2004 hdi mk1 estate and i knew it would need a bit of money spent on it as i paid very little, looking on this forum i have had lots of answers but not sure on this one. The undertray is missing completely and not sure if its one part, if its one part it must be pretty big as i guess it clips to the drivers side and passenger side inner wheel arch liner. The drivers side wheel arch liner is torn at the bottom so you can see daylight when looking in the wing at the bottom but it seems to be well attached other wise. I have found a few under trays that match the car on ebay but am not sure whether its just a poor photo cropped to fit ebay or whether there is more than 1 part as per here http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=200624015081&fromMakeTrack=true One main question is do they constantly come off and does it do any harm just not bothering with one - am not a high speed driver and will mainly use my car for towing. Yes Les, it is a big piece and it covers the area from the front of the car right back to the floor pan, and from side to side attaching to the wheel arch liners. I would say that your wheel arch liners are torn because they have been flapping about, not being held in place by the undertray. I let the same thing happen to my Xantia's liners when I found it too cold to spend more time refitting the undertray after a winter oil change. A piece of ally sheet and some pop-rivets did a good repair. Be careful buying another one. Mk1's and facelift models are different. They don't usually come adrift - only if they haven't been secured correctly in the first place. Of course they can sometimes get hit and pulled. It happened with my daughter's Xsara when a section was smashed from the centre. Again alli sheet and pop rivets did a repair. Quote
les-cumbria Posted August 14, 2013 Author Posted August 14, 2013 that sounds feasable I bet the previous owner did the same, have emailed a couple of scappers to see if i can get the liner first then will get hold of the undertray Quote
paul.h Posted August 14, 2013 Posted August 14, 2013 You can see the Citroen parts diagrams on the service.citroen site by joining as another professional, member of the Citroen Owners Club. You will then be able to see what bits and fixings you need and get the correct part nos. Quote

paul.h Posted August 14, 2013 Posted August 14, 2013 Have a look under bodywork, front section, front wing and it is called a mudguard 7136 AA for left and 7136 T5 for right. The plastic fixing pins need the inner part pushing in a bit to allow the pin to be removed. It is worth printing the Characterisitics section on your car to see what is fitted - using the right mouse button, then print preview and then print I have found works best when printing. If you get a Haynes manual you will find it does not cover the 2.2 hdi engine. You can get the Citroen manuals from such as ebay for about £4 on 3 dvds to put on your pc and includes the parts diagrams and wiring diagrams. Quote

qman3428 Posted August 15, 2013 Posted August 15, 2013 Just a quick comment, when the main dealer fitted mine he experienced problems with some of the clip retainers, rather than spending lots of time (and my money) trying to replace them he used tie wraps. Quote
Johndouglas Posted August 15, 2013 Posted August 15, 2013 to replace them he used tie wraps. Good idea - and quick to remove. I've used them to secure some of the under-bonnet covers on the C5 and Xsara Quote
