larrym Posted August 15, 2013 Posted August 15, 2013 Hi, i'm a new member needing some help please. I have a 2001 3.0 v6 exclusive, the screen for sat nav and radio comes on when i start the car but goes off after about 10-15 mins then won't come on again unless the car has been left for a few hours. It will also cut off quicker if i use sunroof or electric seats, has anyone had this problem and sorted it? In my very limited technical ability (i can change a wheel) i was thinking either the screen is overheating is this possible, or a battery issue any help would be great iwant my screen back  thanks Quote
paul.h Posted August 15, 2013 Posted August 15, 2013 Welcome to the forum.I am not sure if I can help but maybe it needs a new screen. You could check the battery voltage but if the engine is running it is unlikely to be a problem. You may have read other posts on how to see the Citroen parts diagrams on the service.citroen website, register as another professional, member of the Citroen Owners Club. The screen can be seen under Electric unit, comfort and convenience, audio/etc, travel control processor. Quote
coastline taxis Posted August 16, 2013 Posted August 16, 2013 Screen heats up anf goes blank = new screen And welcome to the forum. Its actually a diode that overheats on the back of them Quote
larrym Posted August 17, 2013 Author Posted August 17, 2013 Thanks for the advice will try get a new screen Quote
THOMASROBLOT Posted August 18, 2013 Posted August 18, 2013 on the C5 2001 it is special because the screen is a passive display, so when there were some problems, generally we had to check the display computer . it is up behind the glove compartment, there you will find 2 calculators, one for the navigation and the other for the display.but like said coastline taxi, there is also some diode problem in certain screen.and the big problem to fix it, is the price, because each parts are very expensive..... good luck Quote
