Mfouad Posted August 26, 2013 Posted August 26, 2013 can any one help me out with my C5 V6Just bought a used C5 2001 Exclusive, low mileage but a lot of problems appeared seems from misuse, mainly hydraulic system, I got "serious suspension fault" error displayed in fault screen, no response from suspension level switch, pump is producing sound all time even with all doors closed and ignition off, but no change in height, checked the pump and found capacitor completely damaged, replaced with a new 0.22 micro farad, and no effect, now car is sink and can hardly move it. I need urgent advice. Quote
paul.h Posted August 26, 2013 Posted August 26, 2013 Welcome to the forum. We had something similar earlier this year where the pump would not stop. Turned out the pump had an electrical fault and needed to be replaced. To stop the battery going flat you may need to disconnect it - if so, follow the advice in the Technical section common problems pinned post, this will avoid odd electrical faults appearing. Quote
coastline taxis Posted August 26, 2013 Posted August 26, 2013 Ok first you really need to get the car on a diagnostic machine otherwise your just guessing and in the dark. The suspension really is quite straight forward just 2 sensors a pump and a ecu controling 4 hydraulic rams but you must have diagnostic tools. Qhar area are you in Quote
paul.h Posted August 26, 2013 Posted August 26, 2013 A link to the other pump problem, http://www.citroen-owners-club.co.uk/citroen/topic/20241-c5-suspension/ not the same as yours so the recommendation for a diagnostic check must be the first thing. I guess you have checked the hydraulic oil level. Quote
Mfouad Posted August 27, 2013 Author Posted August 27, 2013 Thanks for all your replies. According to first diagnostic check, the pump couldn't be detected, the fluid level is between base and max. Quote
coastline taxis Posted August 27, 2013 Posted August 27, 2013 what diagnostic are you using as most bog standard one's of ebay wont do the suspension as they are really just for engine codes Quote
Mfouad Posted August 27, 2013 Author Posted August 27, 2013 Actually, diagnosis was made by a specialist who has SW installed on Laptop, I believed he used lexia Quote
Mfouad Posted August 27, 2013 Author Posted August 27, 2013 Is there a way I can lift it manually without need the pump? I need to move it at least to take it to a mechanic. Quote
coastline taxis Posted August 27, 2013 Posted August 27, 2013 Nope no way of lifting it manualy. I would be questioning the specialist because he should know its his job and when using a lexia theres nothing you cant find on a citroen Quote
