Some C5s have auto lights so they come on when it gets a bit dark. If you have this, you can see the sensor on the windscreen at the back of the mirror and you will also have auto intermittent wipers. A comms 2000 unit looks like this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CITROEN-C5-INDICATOR-AND-WIPER-STALKS-WITH-AIRBAG-CASETTE-96592426-XT/251342616401?_trksid=p2047675.m1850&_trkparms=aid%3D222002%26algo%3DSIC.FIT%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D17235%26meid%3D1657966728576084444%26pid%3D100011%26prg%3D8045%26rk%3D2%26rkt%3D5%26sd%3D200953068200%26

I think that's the feature on mine. I just tend to drive with the lights on now.

The auto lights feature can be turned off, it will tell you in the handbook. It is something like have the ignition on (not sure if the engine needs to run) and then hold down the button on the end of the lighting stalk.
