If I change the distribution setting to feet and screen and have temp on max if I put my hand down by the centre consul below the gear stick I can feel some hot air coming from both sides but cold air both sides blowing on the screen any help I am totally confused I am new to the forum and have a few probs with my c5 but this is the most annoying and now its getting cold ! paul.h Posted October 15, 2013 Posted October 15, 2013 Welcome to the forum.A few questions first:Has this just started and was any work done on the car before it started ?Can the air flow be directed normally to just the screen, to just the central vents, to just the floor so that you know the flaps that direct the air flow are working ?Can the air temperature be increased normally (and decreased) to give hot air at all these positions separately ?Have you tried with the air con switched off so the compressor does not run ?Under the bonnet are the heater hoses supply and return both hot and is the engine temperature indicating normally (not low) ? Depending on the replies, possibilities include:- it may be a motor that operates the heater flap is faulty (new ones are about £60),- the heating system may need a reboot by disconnecting the battery (if you try this follow the procedure in the common problems post in the Technical section),- the engine thermostat may need replacing. Let us know your other problems and we will try to help with those also. Quote
dcba12290 Posted October 21, 2013 Author Posted October 21, 2013 Hi Sorry its taken me so long I don't get a lot of time no work has been done recently. On doing your checks I noticed that when on hot with the blower working if I change the directional arrows to the centre vents, I get hot air out of the passenger side and cold from the right hand side it doesn't seem as hot as I would have thought but it is actually cold on the drivers side. Any help ? Quote
