arnieblaggard Posted November 2, 2013 Posted November 2, 2013 Hi All,I recently had a new front drivers seat fitted as the old one had a broken adjuster mechanism. The garage had to disconnect the battery due to the chane of the airbag going off, On replacing the battery it was found that the remote locking key fob was not working, incidentally it is a local garage and not a Citroen dealership. They tried changing the battery but it is still not working so I was wondering if there is someone on here with the same problem or a quick fix which the garage can try. Many Thanks Quote
Johndouglas Posted November 2, 2013 Posted November 2, 2013 There is an important procedure for reconnecting the battery. If it is not followed many electrical devices may not work correctly. This is the method:- Put the driver's window down, lift the bonnet and ensure all equipment is switched off.Ensure all doors are closed and remove key from the ignition.Wait for 3 minutes, disconnect the vehicle battery and wait 15 seconds.Reconnect the vehicle battery, wait a further 10 seconds (do not open doors.).Switch on the side lights through the driver's window.Switch on the ignition and check system's functionality.Hold lock button on key down for 10 seconds.Remove key open & close door test central locking system.Start the engine and complete the system's check.Reset the clock and date.Failure to follow this procedure could result in incorrect operation of many BSI related items. paul.h Posted November 6, 2013 Posted November 6, 2013 It could also be the remote key needs to be synchronised to the car again - there should be a procedure in the car handbook to be followed when replacing the key fob battery. Quote

paul.h Posted November 23, 2013 Posted November 23, 2013 Welcome to the forum. Have you tried to resynchronise the remote key ? There may be different procedures to follow and the following lists a couple that may work but also check what is in your handbook. 4. Synchronisation of HF PLIP remote controlsPerform the following operations :Put the HF key to be synchronised in position "ignition +"Press on the locking button (big button) on the HF keyWait between 5 and 10 secondsRelease the locking button on the HF keySwitch off the ignition with the HF keyWait 3 secondsThe ignition key HF PLIP is synchronised.N.B. : Perform these operations for the other keys equipped with HF remote control.Carry out a locking / unlocking test of the vehicle’s doors and tailgate.N.B. : If the locking / unlocking test of the doors and tailgate is not correct, restart the synchronisations of all the ignition keys equipped with HF PLIPS. 6.3. Resynchronisation of the remote control6.3.1. Cause of desynchronisationThe remote control’s evolving code, matched with the vehicle’s receiver, is modified each time the remote control is used. Therefore the key can become desynchronised if there are 255 presses on the remote control buttons when out of range of the vehicle.6.3.2. Resynchronisation of the remote control To resynchronise the remote control, this procedure has to be followed Stage Action 1 Switch on the ignition using the key whose remote control is to be resynchronised 2 Press one of the transmitter buttons within 10 seconds of the appearance of ignition+ Quote
