GaryC Posted November 30, 2013 Posted November 30, 2013 Hi All Apologies if this is a silly question, but I've searched the formus and other pages and can't find the answer! I want to carry out the BSi reset procedure as my electric windows are doing silly things, but I can't figure out how to remove the battery clip! I've read several posts that say "remove the clip", and a few others that say Citroen use a "quick release" clamp, but I can't find anything that looks like the clips on my battery - This is my first Citroen, and every other car I've ever had has had "normal" battery clamps that either just sit over the top of the post and are held in place with a screw, or uses a clamp tightened by a nut and bolt (both of which are dead easy to remove) Please can someone tell me how to remove the clip as it has got me stumped!! The car is a Citroen C5 1.8 (Petrol) LX 2001 model - I've attached a picture of the cip just in case it helps Thanks in advance for the help. Quote
Johndouglas Posted November 30, 2013 Posted November 30, 2013 The bit on the right hand side of your picture levers upwards. They should have coloured plastic tips on the lever part. Mine is red for + and green for -. After levering up, the clip around the terminal will just lift off. Make sure you read the BSI reset instructions before removing a clamp. Quote
GaryC Posted November 30, 2013 Author Posted November 30, 2013 Fantastic! Thanks Johndouglas, it's easy when you know how isn't it - I followed the instructions for the BSi reset, but it doesn't seem to have done anything, so I'll put another post up and see if anyone has any other ideas. Thanks again for your help. Quote
paul.h Posted November 30, 2013 Posted November 30, 2013 Have you seen the pinned Common Problems post in the Technical section ? In it there is a procedure that worked to sort the windows not closing problem. Quote
GaryC Posted November 30, 2013 Author Posted November 30, 2013 Thank you Paul - I've just had a read through it and I'll see if I can find the interior (glove compartment) fuse box tomorrow (so long as the weathers not too bad!) Quote
