Scgraske Posted November 30, 2013 Posted November 30, 2013 57 platesDiesel Manual1.6 In the past three days power is suddenly lost, engine warning light on... Within a few seconds it's all ok............????? Our local mechanic ( personal friend) had the car for 1.5 days and it never failed once..... A Google search indicates many possibilities .... Fuel pump, airflow, possibly an engine fuss issue.... Would appreciate thoughts from members..... Quote
paul.h Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 Welcome to the forum. What car is it and how many miles has it done ?How was the car being driven at the time -speed, type of road, miles since starting ?Have you recently filled up with fuel - could be dodgy fuel ?Is servicing up to date including fuel filter replacement ?Have you had the fault code read and if so what is it ? Even though the engine light does not stay on, the code will be stored until it has been deleted and there should also be freeze frame data that may help with the diagnosis. It would only take a few minutes to read the code, not 1½ days. If not this would be the best thing to do - otherwise it is all guesswork and you could end up replacing lots of parts before you found the fault. If your mechanic does not have a code reader he/she (or you) should consider buying one, only £30 to £60 for a reasonable one such as from Gendan and if you get one that gives some live data its uses increase. demag Posted December 7, 2013 Posted December 7, 2013 Sounds remarkably similar to mine. 08 plate new shape Berlingo 1.6hdi. Lost power a few times. Warning said "Low Oil Pressure". The turbo has blown! Its still got 8 months to run on a 12month parts and labour warranty direct from Citroen and they are refusing to pay! So it sits in the dealers in pieces. Citizens Advice on Monday and possible Court claim. Quote
