Kertrats24 Posted December 15, 2013 Posted December 15, 2013 I've just got my 2009 vtr+ back from the garage after having the heater matrix replaced under warranty now my ac works fine but.The multifunction display for the radio is dead I've check the wire to it and that's seems fine .The passenger side of the wind screen and door window fog up unless the ac is turned on.The auto locking system when you start driving isn't working any more. And when you press the lock button the led just flickers.I've found a wire but I haven't got a clue were it goes see pic I'd rather not have to take the car back to the garage again although he says he'll put it right he tends to break more than he fixes so if any one can point me in the right direction with any or all of these faults that would be great. paul.h Posted December 15, 2013 Posted December 15, 2013 On the steaming up - can you get warm air to blow through the vents to these areas without the air con on and does the air smell of anti freeze (a bit like burnt curry) ? A lack of air flow or warm air could be a direction or heater flap not working and a smell if any, could be some anti freeze spilt and not cleaned up/dried - or it could be a leak at the passenger side of the heating system - matrix/pipe joint. I had a Saab heater matrix that leaked a bit and that caused the windscreen to steam up. I can not help with the other bits but on the plug, if you can read the numbers on the wires it may help somebody with access to a wiring diagram. Quote
Kertrats24 Posted December 16, 2013 Author Posted December 16, 2013 Numbers on the wires I'll check later there is no funny smells and nothing feels damp the heater matrix new so I don't think it's that but there does seem to be a lot more air coming out towards the drivers side where are the flaps are they accesable to check. paul.h Posted December 16, 2013 Posted December 16, 2013 If you have climate control the flaps are operated by electric motors located on both sides of the air con unit. To get to them you need to look up from the footwells - in this case just the passenger one. It may need part of the trim removing to do this and a mirror and torch will help. If a flap is the problem, it could be the electrical connector is not in place on a motor. Maybe you can hear the flaps move when you change the air flow direction. If you do not have climate control maybe a duct is not in place. Quote
Kertrats24 Posted December 16, 2013 Author Posted December 16, 2013 Hi I've checked the wire no. It's hard to read but I think the white wire says. Bk 13.1 k3238 there is also numbers on the brown wire but I can't see what that says.If any one knows where this plug should go please let me know. Quote
coastline taxis Posted December 16, 2013 Posted December 16, 2013 the plug and the car need to go back to the garage. if you atempt to do anything yourself youl be voiding anykind of recourse Quote
paul.h Posted December 16, 2013 Posted December 16, 2013 I would go along with coastline on this, there seems to be a few things wrong which may not be easy to sort. I had a look in the RTA manual for the car which has some wiring diagrams covering major things like the engine, heating and exterior lights but there is nothing like the number you have given. Maybe there are some more numbers hidden by the tape around the wires. A magnifying glass helps to read the wire numbers. In the Haynes for the earlier model C5s, the 3000 numbers are used for interior wiring so maybe the plug could be something to do with this, possibly an option that is not on your car but still check if all the lights are working.
