JM53 BEL Posted January 30, 2014 Posted January 30, 2014 I put my reg plate on my car last year but been without my C5 since Noember as the DVLA have screwed up on the reg transfer! They never corrected the M.O.T. So i cant tax, after several calls to them and promises to sort it. I am still no further forward! My M.O.T. Is not due till april so i have lost 5 months on it, my car is going in for its service in a couple of weeks so thought it would be simpler to just re m.o.t. At same time! What sort of things should i look out for on the new shape c5 that is likely to fail! I dont think it will as car is running perfect and everything feels good when driving, but just want to make sure theres nothing i have missed! Quote
paul.h Posted January 30, 2014 Posted January 30, 2014 There have been a couple of reports of steering fluid leaks where the pipes join the rack so worth a look. Otherwise I guess it should be a straight forward usual check. The MOT manual is on line if you want to look at it http://www.transportoffice.gov.uk/crt/doitonline/bl/mottestingmanualsandguides/mottestingmanualsandguides.htm Quote
Johndouglas Posted January 30, 2014 Posted January 30, 2014 If your car is on hydropnuematic suspension give the front struts a wipe down. Under the bellows they get a coating of mist which some MOT guys thinks is a fluid leak and give it a fail. Quote
